And when you realize the pinnacle increase was the only reason to do things each new season , you will regret this post
MMOs are supposed to have max power increases , or they don't work

I think it’s actually shown the opposite. The power grind was a fake “thing to do”. The real grind was always chasing new weapons or crafting patterns. Now we’re all free to do the activities that give us the stuff we want, rather than infusion fuel. In addition, the playlist challenges grant exotics that can be focused now. So there’s really a lot more to do that’s worth your time.

Chasing 'old' weapons Crafting made replayability worse & removed the last semblance of enjoyment the game gave out. Crafting was added to add all the other materials to give you something to chase. It's what bungie do best, move the furniture around & pretend it's a new room. It's not lazy, that would suggest they don't care, it's management giving destiny a tiny budget bcoz it's no longer the primary game. Can't blame a workforce when the budget given isn't nearly enough. This is why every content created is applauded by the staff on twitter, you made that with almost nothing, wow.

Agreee power grind sucks
-
Exactly.

If power level actually acted like an increase in power against certain enemies, I would agree with you. Power level has been nothing more than a time gate for years.

If Neomuna slowly got easier and easier it would make sense. And it could even be like LOTRO where enemies in the cosmodrome could be so low in level they don’t even try to fight you out of fear.

Oh hey something we agree on, nice, I’ve been so bored this season I pretty much did everything I wanted to do week one and now just log in to play with clan mates and do the weekly story.
And when you realize the pinnacle increase was the only reason to do things each new season , you will regret this post MMOs are supposed to have max power increases , or they don't work
Lmao. Getting stronger to do what? The same stuff you did 100x…. No light progression is the only good thing they’ve done in a LONG time. Just too bad it’s at the same time a lot of unfortunate things happening.
-
Nah. I feel I no longer have to deal with FOMO. Get on, do the weekly mission and maybe a raid or two and a dungeon or 2 for the week. Then do real life things or play a different game depending how busy the week is.
-
If you dealt with fomo for +10 pinnacle level every season you got an issue
-
They aren't increases. They are setbacks to gate you from activities that you just played the day prior and that is stupid.
-
And all the other popular mmos that do the same thing are ok?
-
I don't think you suddenly can't do older activities in other games because the power increased again. That level 50 activity in other games will stay at level 50 even if the max level is increased to 60 while destiny just turn all activity to level 60
-
What kind of strawman is that? 1: If this is the case, that is dumb. 2: Most MMOs don't do that. You have to level to do the new content sure, but what already existed tends to not be impacted in most cases.
-
A lot of mmos do that actually but in most cases it’s a bigger game with more to do so it’s not as noticeable, but you literally level up then have to farm for gear to get those plus 1s in every spot to min max and do harder content it’s not the exact same as destiny but it’s basically the same system.
-
Totally agree Bud. All the naysayers either don’t want to see it or can’t. Removal of the core progression mechanic is never going to work. As usual they listen to a vocal minority who are only happy if the game suits them and be damned yo the rest. Might also help if they start engaging with people on their own forums and stop relying so much on streamers opinions.

All these guys saying thanks for removing levelling are the guys who barely play. This guy doesn't level anyway, any season, literally affects him in no way at all. This guy is a prime example. Says thanks for not increasing power levelling, now I can concentrate on pinnacles & do things I enjoy. Seems fair enough, BUT a quick look at his account 3 characters, all 1800, doesn't do any pinnacles, barely plays, doesn't complete anything he attempts or really struggles, look at legend storys not completed, lost sectors with 5-6-7 deaths, dungeon attempt with 0 kills each & quit when they can't even start the thing. This is why Joe Blackburn was worried about touching levelling, bcoz the people who want it barely play anyway, the guys who need a reason to play now have no reason & aren't playing, this affects overall playtime by huge amounts & inturn affects budget for future content & affects everything. It's an ecosystem & it's fragile, a bit like if bees die out the world ends type of thing.

Spot on👍
-
Doubt it.
-
Nope. I do things for red borders and good rolls. Power increase makes me do activities I don't want to in pursuit of a number.

And MMOs are the worst type of video-game. -
Much prefer it when you did hard activities to get higher light, instead of getting higher light to do harder activities.
