Bungie ‘community’ spotlight is ALWAYS a streamer… because the focus of development is around streaming.
I always find it odd that ‘community’ anything is so focused on one tiny subgroup of the players. It’s such a tiny bubble of opinions and takes.

Yeah a proper survey of active players with some open ended questions would be talking to the Community. Bungie listens …… not. Eg How do you rate content How do you rate server reliability What are your favourite 3 things in destiny What are you least favourite things in destiny What QOL improvements would you like to see. Etc etc You could also survey some sub groups - free to play, those playing 0-12 months and the ‘rusted on’. Will never happen though.

If this was done anonymously and everyone who participated answered honestly (which would likely be a stretch in and of itself), I'd be interested to see the polling results. Although, let's be realistic, even if it was done legitimately and the results were completely above-board, there'd be so many people on the forum disputing it, claiming that Bungie doctored the outcome in their favor. An interesting idea, though.

Wait till they focus on saltagreppo, who is a literally bungie shill…..or datto for that matter
-
I would be highly surprised if they haven’t polished off dattos glaive yet

I guess they should interview you then. Yk, because your platform is so large.
I guess they should interview you then. Yk, because your platform is so large.
U shouldn’t need a platform for your opinion to be valid and listened to if properly presented.

Just tired of the fakeness of it all. It’s not representative of the ‘community’ of the game’s players…. It’s representative of the little bubble of streaming folks. And in a lot of cases it’s just social clout chasing… which your comment reinforces. Why not just contact some random player that has a good history of experience with the game over time… or a random player that just got started and is still learning. Be a heck of a lot more interesting than weekly streamer updates.
Why not just contact some random player that has a good history of experience with the game over time… or a random player that just got started and is still learning.
Because that's stupid & nobody would care.
-
How about a novel idea like talking to someone who doesn’t already talk about the game and why they play all the time (like streamers do)
-
Sure, but writing an article about it would be stupid & nobody would care.
-
For you maybe… but it would also be novel aka new idea compared to the literally every “community” focus article before that has been about someone in the streamer community. Just look back through the archives of the ‘community’ focus articles Bungie has published through the years (yes these are available). It literally just a bubble of people clout chasing and promoting each other…
It literally just a bubble of people clout chasing and promoting each other…
Duh? The whole point of the community focus is to promote people that promote the game.
-
Duh? The whole point of the community focus is to promote people that promote the game.
So you agree the focus is NOT the ‘community’ at large… which means it’s just like another clique from high school… which explains a lot of the behavior from streamer/content creator and Bungie employees and the company itself.
-
So you agree the focus is NOT the ‘community’ at large…
Right. It focuses on specific members of the community

So you agree the focus is NOT the ‘community’ at large…
Right. It focuses on specific members of the community
If you do community outreach, and only focus on specific people your not community outreaching- your making a sound bubble where you get to bounce thought back with no diversity of thought Ergo making an echo chamber

So you agree the focus is NOT the ‘community’ at large…
Right. It focuses on specific members of the community
Which it should be the community at large. No one here should care of social clout.
