When we think of minions of Darkness the first image that comes to mind are the Hive and second to that are the Vex. Both races seem as if we could never hope to understand each other! That the differences between humanity and the Hive are too great and that the lack of empathy on the part of the Vex makes them sociopathic in the eyes of mankind. But is this true or a trick of the mind? Is it a matter of perspective? Perhaps they see us as the instigators and villains because war is all they've ever known. Could you take a Hive egg from the nest and from the clutches of the Witness, could you keep the worms away, could you adopt and raise it as it grows? What would such a Hive grow into? Could a good Hive exist? I think so. How about the Vex? They seem to think in terms of mathematics rather than empathy. They use Logic and technology. Their some sort of radiolarian lifeform that uses a mechanical shell as a Mech Suit to do battle against creatures for larger and more powerful than themselves. In honest observation the Vex are amazing creatures who have accomplished quite a bit. Is it really outside the realm of possibility that the Vex could be reasoned with? Has any one truly tried to understand their perspective? Their reason for doing what they do. With understanding Diplomacy could begin. With Diplomacy real action could be taken to take former enemies and form an alliance against the Witness and his infamous Black Fleet. Already we have forged peace with the House of Light and with the Empress of the Cabal. As Gaurdians it is our responsibility not just to fight for humanity, but to protect Life and it's continued existence. Peace with the Vex and Hive is possible. We are only limited by our imaginations. The key is an open mind. For an open mind is like an open door. Things can freely come and go. Yet a closed mind is like a closed door. Things can't come and go. I am the Marshal. Not a title. Marshal is my name. I'm a Warlock. In my Youth I was a Praxic but as I grew I learned that the universe didn't function the way that the Praxic envisioned. I learned that while many of our enemies are relentless they can actually be reasoned with. I learned that peace in our time is possible and that the Voice in the Darkness is our true enemy. The Black Fleet can be stopped. Alone we are weak. But together we can be strong. On behalf of the Vanguard I declare this proclamation: Freedom and the Right to live belongs to all sentient beings. It is not something that should be capitalized by any one species. The freedom of choice and free thinking are the pinnacles of success. To the Hive: I say turn from your worms. You where tricked. Allow us an opportunity to talk. Allow Diplomacy so we can raise up against those who betrayed you. Against those in the Black Fleet and among your kind who enslave you. You are only limited by your imagination so imagine a good light bearing Hive. To the Vex: Let us think rationally about our survival and our continued existence. Let us use Logic to dictate the best course towards diplomacy so that we can put the Black Fleet and the Witness in the ground. To our allies: You have fought vigilant but the time to lay down arms has not yet come. If we can rally our forces and pull ourselves up by our boot straps then we will prevail. Live in the Light.
