FUN is a pretty good incentive....or did people forget thats what video games are for?

Rewards are also what people play video games for. That's why other comp modes in other games have them. Gun Skins, Decals, Ornaments, etc.
-
People have limited time to play the game. They have to choose whether to spend time getting gear that will help them win in the Crcuible or to spend time playing Crucible. If additional gear gets added as Crucible drops, both goals may be satisfied. It's not just a matter of "fun" when light level is a requirement for the premier Destiny PVP mode (Trials).
-
Soft cap is 1570, you don't need to be anything more than that to have fun in trials, literally all you have to do to reach soft cap is play the game, an hour a day is more than enough time
-
Pinnacles are part of the problem, but what about guns? I'm forced to leave the game mode I enjoy to go farm for rolls of weapons that are only really good in Crucible (Eyasluna, Beloved, Palindrome, etc.)
-
You're not forced to do anything, if you want to grind for rolls thats up to you, basic world drop weapons are more than good enough for crucible, if you want those specific weapons then go ahead but don't act like you're forced to use them or you wont do good without them
-
Why shouldn't those weapons (or equivalent weapons) drop in Crucible?
-
Because....that's not how games work? Go here to earn this, go there to earn that, you don't see anyone complaining that they ran king's fall 50 times and didn't get a 1k voices
-
Raid drop like 7 Pinnacles. Nightfalls have you swimming in Exotics. Crucible has what exactly?
-
You get a pinnacle and other gear for every major rank and an engram every minor rank, a pinnacle for 3 games and random rewards after matches, what more do you want?
-
we need a new exotic version of Mountain Top that has given comp a reason to be played, i've hit 5500 in comp and never gotten the mida multitool catalyst, which is depressing.
-
It was a guaranteed drop after the first win after reaching 5,5k.
-
This is when I got it 👆
-
I went legend twice but failed to secure the next win. I got it later at around 3,5k points.
-
Lol, you dont play comp for fun. Get out of here
-
I do 🙂 hate 6v6
-
-
I play comp for fun and I hate 6v6. Yeah we exist
-
Me too 👍 especially when 6v6 was CBMM but still prefer the less chaotic nature in 3v3 even though 6v6 is now SB. My only issue with survival is I play mostly solo & have found in the past that the MM can be very loose with the skill factor & I can sometimes find I’m vs flawless or gilded flawless.
-
You're right the sbmm is pretty loose
-
Why else would I play if not for fun? There's no weapon to chase, no point grinding for legend
-
Lies, all i here are lies
Why else would I play if not for fun? There's no weapon to chase, no point grinding for legend
If you enjoy the Survival game mode, that’s great, but a Competitive playlist is supposed to have a bit more spice than regular playlists. Matches should be fiercely contested because players are battling for rank, loot and bragging rights. Level of skill and performance should be recognised and rewarded appropriately.
-
Why? You have trials for your bragging rites why do you feel the need to bring it into what is just a different casual playlist.
-
Why? You have trials for your bragging rites why do you feel the need to bring it into what is just a different casual playlist.
I’m confused. We’re talking about the Glory (competitive) playlist. It’s not supposed to be casual.
-
Why is it not supposed to be casual, especially as there is nothing on the line except your own performance? I never understand why most of the complaints about bringing SBMM into control was that it’s a casual game mode not a competitive one. Casual for who would be my response. All PvP is competitive but all PvP that doesn’t have a specific goal (flawless) can be called casual because there is nothing to gain nothing to loose. I would love to see a higher population in survival but it would need to be those on MY skill level & not become, as it used to be, the mode for the sweatiest of the sweaty.
