Bottom line is why would I play the strike playlist for blues and glimmer when I can play match made adept nightfalls with a chance for a nightfall weapon, cores, and prisms on heroic.
Edit: Thanks for all the feedback. I do agree with a few of you all that they are for new lights. New lights definitely need strikes as well as us during new expansions. I dont think the incentive needs to be drastic like exotic drops every time or making them more difficult.
I would recommend something as simple as each strike has chances to drop legendary planetary armor or weapons according to the planet they are on. For example, Exodus Crash drops legendary Nessus Armor and Nessus weapons and planetary materials.

Farming something like Grasp of Malok was cool. Taken armor was cool. Strike specific loot was cool. But somehow a game in its 8th year keeps going backwards.
-
We need a bunch of new strikes (and crucible maps) but with how shitty the culture is inside of Bungie, it’s not going to happen.
-
The new "Vanguard Ops" playlist sounds so boring lol; forced battlegrounds ... I'm going to quit every one.

Bearbeitet von Peloquinsoul: 1/25/2022 12:56:22 PMThe worst thing about the strike playlist is the age of the majority of the strikes in it. By this point in D1 we had a sequel with a whole new suite of strikes, yet were now heading into y5 of D2 and we're still stuck with mostly vanilla D2 content. I don't care who you are, running Arms Dealer or any of the original strikes is just utterly tedious at this point. They need to rotate the pool each season bringing back some of the vaulted strikes (after all they're supposedly 'moments in time' so the planets not existing doesn't affect anything, Cayde's dead but still has dialogue in a lot of them too) I mean look at the Festering Core, didn't even last a year!
-
Once I do my three strikes per week the only other reason I run strikes is to test a load out.

Bearbeitet von Demon_XXVII: 1/27/2022 11:16:55 AMAll Core modes No incentive Stale, bland & desperately in need of overhauls Some of those strikes have been run 1 million times (at least with Crucible/Gambit the human factor changes gameplay) If they dropped a NEW 20 strike DLC (with new loot, weapons, armour, NF exclusives & cosmetics) for £60, I’d buy it in a heartbeat Same with Crucible/Gambit The game needs NEW content & the Forsaken style chase for Tier 1/S worthy loot (No Bungie not Season of Worthy crap)
-
They need to separate all of the activity based weapons back into their respective activities. You want Vanguard weapons armor? Strike rewards only. Crucible weapons like Retrofuturist? Play Crucible. Gambit Prime weapons? Back into Gambit rewards. It would also spread out the general loot pool to make it more likely to get things you want and not be swamped with TONS of weapons when you're looking for a god roll of a couple, especially when it feels like only a handful of weapons actually drop from any source to the point they already feel like activity exclusive drops form how little they drop from general rewards like Banshee or Umbral engram decoding. Which also shouldn't cost shards for decoding and each season should drop that season's introduced weapons to make it easier instead of more stuff being added to the loot pool.

I miss some of the designs for the sunset nightfall weapons the mindbender shot gun was one of my favorite.
-
Oh another thing D1 had that was better. I thought the whole point of putting out a new game was to improve upon its predecessor? Unfortunately when it came to strikes they had to go backwards
-
It’s the same for gambit and crucible. It’s so people that still need pinnacle gear can get it. And also, get some free bright dust. That’s it.
-
The problem is most of the strikes are between 4-7 years old. They're so stale at this point even the swarming flies have given up and moved on. Only reason to do strikes, is to speed run 3 and get the pinnacle gear and move on, same with crucible and gambit. The 3 main pinnacle playlists need a massive refresh. The sad thing is Destiny 2 has really great feeling gunplay but the content is so -blam!- stale.
-
Make them drop some enhancement cores and we’d be in business!
-
I’ve done 1200 strikes and I still can’t get enough of them. For me there really doesn’t have to be any sort of incentive, I use the strike playlist to mess around with builds and setups as well as to just chill and listen to some 80s music whilst blastin’ some dregs. Try it, it’s great.
-
I wish they’d up playlist drops. It feels like strikes take a bit longer then gambit and crucible and any strike playlist drop is incredibly rare for me.
-
And you can just brainlessly run through everything. I'm missing the heroic strike playlist from D1 so much.

Bearbeitet von hate n payne: 1/26/2022 8:54:01 PMThere is no need for heroic strikes and nightfalls together. All you need is the Nightfalls and Battlegrounds. They can even bring back Adventures to be used in conjunction with lost sectors. So I agree with you. I hope this Vanguard Operations includes any and all content currently in the game as replayability activity but on a harder scale and a more rewarding loot based experience. I mean what is the point in building content and expanding into it further to make it better only to sunset it without it reaching the potential it could have. Removing the power level and allowing the difficulty to dictate how you play the game is a necessity alongside the Battle Pass and Artifact being the way to earn additional rewards and skill sets for your character. Hold players accountable with the difficulty system and an in game matchmaking for all content. Trial and error is how people improve not being carried for every single piece of content or concept due to a neglect in a mechanics for the system itself.

I will use it to level up in witch queen
-
Strikes are going to get worst. Because all the good ones on tangle shore are gana go bye bye. Only strikes left are the long boring ones
-
i get plenty of cores from strike playlist running the right ghost mods. i also level up vanguard rep and get prisms, cores and an exotic when i re-set. just depends on how you want to spend the time. this week's corrupted NF? not so much, especially with the horrid weapon drop rates on hero. lol

When they put in the bounties that basically made it where people are competing against one another for any progress, instead of it being a fireteam bounty, I quit playing them. I actually had a friend write me a script that would block any matchmaking from happening so that it would throw me into the strike alone and I could ACTUALLY do my bounty without having to throw on absolute meta pieces and my headband so I could protect my face from all the SWEAT. FML, Bungie is stupid almost all the time.
-
Yes there is. Waste time is the incentive Bungie gives us for playing curcible, strikes and gambit cause they literally abandoned their so called "pillar playlists" because they went free to play greed mode. All they have done since Activision ditched them was remove content from those now free to play "pillar" playlists. Nothing more. Greedy company that has literally no integrity at all whatsoever
-
I feel like a lot of the story missions from past seasons could easily be converted into strikes. Like all the boss missions you run in beyond light

Bearbeitet von A_mo: 1/26/2022 3:10:59 PMStrikes could use a bit of an update in terms of rewards, which they'll probably be getting. Tbh I know its not as easy to do as to say but I've always felt like all the strikes should be in the game at once, regardless of whatever else is happening with the DCV. But overall they do what they're supposed to do. I like the memory lane feeling you get when you play in the vanguard playlist and the way they've been upgraded visually this year has been particularly cool.

Bearbeitet von Lord Ignatius: 1/26/2022 2:10:14 PMIts for new players not vets who have already played it 1000 times over. Its good for leveling again useless to someone already high or play endgame content. Can't be at endgame and then complain early game has no incentive thats just silly. Some could be like me and want to appreciate the strike without the extra modifiers like in nightfalls. The problem this game has is the fact the game is being catered to too many players and struggles with identity. What incentive would there be for a new player to play if everything is endgame, fomo, or you had to be there to get it?
-
I think its been so long since we've had a new season that its difficult to understand the uses of strikes, since most of us have hit the hard cap such a long time ago. Strikes are, for the most part, lower light activities used to level up to soft, yeah they have catalysts and quests tied to some strikes but thats usually it. In terms of more incentives other than catalysts for endgame replay value, it would be nice to have Strike specific loot come back. I remember grinding an insane amount just to get my hands on a decent Imago Loop, might have the same effect for others if Strike specific loot was a thing again.
