From what I've heard splitting teams essentially removes you from the current pool of players to try and find a balanced one however it tosses those people in as well sooooo. Btw I could be wrong but I've seen a few people say this

It’s just really frustrating. I ended up having two decent games with that group after this (despite 99% of the players being the same). I literally back out and immediately get stomped by another 4-stack. Idk, this is why I don’t play crucible often anymore

The current matchmaking for everything except Trials and Survival is connection btw even Iron is connection despite saying skilled so you'll always encounter people with similar connection
-
My connection’s not the issue. I’ve got good internet and live just outside a major city. I don’t think it’s the matchmaking, lobby balancing needs a major tune-up and it seems like match break-up needs some work too
-
Oh I'm not saying it is I'm saying it's trying to match you with players using similar connection which can sometimes mean the same stacks over and over also you have crossplay on correct? If not you're even more likely to encounter the same stack of people
-
Got crossplay on. You can tell because lag always increases when there are more PS users, and one of my friends has the same thing in Xbox lobbies. I get the pool, but I’d trade a little bit more latency for a slightly broader pool.

Ya playstation has an issue atm where an update to the ps4 cut connection in half essentially and seem to not wanna fix it though I have a feeling they wanna try and get people to upgrade instead of fixing it. So right now playing with a playstation user is just why

Haha. I’m still waiting on my power tower. East coast has been really hurting for series X under $900.

That's a pretty big yikes
