Because I’m newish (and unique perspectives) or maybe just missing something? What did Varik’s hide from Shadow? Was he lying or just omitting?
Just asking because that has been a “reason” of toxic people irl to not take responsibility for their choices and to not be honest “But I do still love you!” It’s BS. It’s easier to lie with words, it’s much harder to lie with actions.
(Just don’t want Shadow getting betrayed 😊)
And I hope Glitch stays safe.

Actually, he didn’t hide anything from Shadow! He hid their relationship from Eramis. :) Variks is a good boi he wouldn’t betray her lol he never purposely betrays anyone he’s got a good heart

Yes but seeing as those “Bad Guys” are most of his people it’s still betrayal. However his betrayal of them led to the abandonment of Eramis by her people, and defection to House Light and Dusk. So thank you Variks and I also strongly dislike you

I’m sorry if it seems like I’m really toxic, I just started trusting Variks again during Beyond Light and anyway I have trouble trusting anyone but my Fireteam. However your fanfics are well written and enjoyable, so I am sorry if I seem like a hater.

But never seen a reasoning nor explanation for it. Just “He did it. Equals evil.” (Also never played Destiny 1, and I have heard he was a character in there as well, so don’t know that lore.) Edit: Plus if I remember correctly from the BL storyline, not only does he seem remorseful for releasing them, he had no idea that would happen. So it seems it wasn’t like a evil “Hahaha I’m going to release them to murder Cayde-6 and cause murder and chaos muhahaha!”.

Yes he didn’t mean for Cayde to even be there, but he did mean to release the Barons and Uldren. The fact that he didn’t mean for Cayde to die is why I’m forgiving him, but not trusting him
