Auto rifles are in a dire need for a pve buff
Just farmed a few gms to get a pretty good shadow price adept and oh boy does this gun suck. Like seriously I go into patrol and my ikelos smg feels like a special weapon in comparison... all auto archetype have been swept under the rug in pve for far too long and I feel like they could really use some love. Some major points to consider:
- Damage is too low for all activities. If I’m taking a good few bullets to kill a patrol ad, there is a problem. I feel like all archetypes could go for a possible 20% buff to precision damage with a small bump for body.
- 450s and 720s should be looked at the most for damage as they are disappointing in most activities especially shadow price which as an adept weapon sure does not enough damage in gms.
Side note:
- Most pulses should be tuned also as they under perform in some activities, specifically the fastest and slowest: 450 lightweights, 540s and 340s.
This is all pve focused just FYI. I believe this needs to happen as sidearms and smgs have dominated pve for far to long HOWEVER, they should not nerf them as they are in a good place, just autos and pulses are under performing.

I agree. I stopped using auto rifles all together smgs are the better choice

I really think bungie is scared to buff high impact autos in crucible. We we’re supposed to get the buff when gnawing hunger was meta but it was pulled last minute.

They go play a videogame and find seesaw bullets. I guess games are fake. Up and down. Up and down. You guys like seesaw very much.

It's a problem specific to 450 RPM Autos.

600s are good 450s are the issue they don't preform well in PvE or PvP

600s and 720s are fine, 450s and 360s could do with being looked at.

1 AntwortenReally agree. 450 autos are unusably bad. For 600 autos, I find it’s the kinetic ones that suck. Gnawing Hunger is really solid, and I have an Arctic Haze (which are 720s) that um melts. Also agree that pulses need a look, and that SMGs and sidearms are in a great spot right now.

13 AntwortenWhile I agree with the AR buff, I don't think that 600 RPMs should see the limelight anytime soon again. They had their own time for two/three seasons. However, I would LOVE to see 450s or 900 RPM ARs get a buff. The only 900 RPM Autos in the game were Perserverance, and Valakadyn, they've been weak since day one unfortunately. Now that Shadow Price is in the game and is a 450 RPM, I do believe its time we see a buff to that Archetype. Also I must ask, what is your roll on Shadow Price? You could be enjoying the gun, but not the roll.

1 AntwortenThey suck this season since there aren't any mods really for them. I quickly got a nice Artic Haze that I never not used in PvE. This season I've barely used it at all.

Remember they nerf 600 rpm autos for pve and pvp a few seasons ago and that nerf pretty much killed 600 rpm autos for pve. They are still usable with the right setup but they feel really weak unless optimally built for.

When Bungie wants you to use auto rifles, they will buff them.

I’m not sure if comparing them to SMGs is the best considering they are meant to be shorter ranged ammo dumps. They deal higher dps but have lower overall damage output and are less ammo efficient.

Agreed because why am I farming Shadow Price just to never use it?

340 rpm pulses are actually a good choice in both pvp and pve. Lightweight and rapid fire frames are in need of a buff. Adaptives are in a good place imo.

For PVE I think Age-Old Bond (360rpm) is pretty damn good and has very very nice perk pool (killclip, rampage, firefly, HIR, tap the trigger, triple tap, sway reduction) maybe only bad perk on that gun is ambitious assassin rest are solid.

600s and higher can't be buffed. But I will say the low end rpms do need a serious bump.

4 AntwortenNever gonna happen they got buffed season of arrivals and pvp players cried for nerfs days after season started. Bungie can separate the sandbox's but we know they won't.

Absolutely right see to make them a viable option most of the time people will select the more difficult option all the way up to grandmaster and the problem is with auto rifles they are terrible no higher than adept. now then I know it wasn't mentioned but... I think there are some weapons including the auto rifle that need a little bit of buff in pvp as well. for as long as I can remember even in the destiny one days the biggest meta has always been shotguns and hand cannons and I'm tired of seeing them we need variety so how about buffing other weapons Pulse rifles scout rifles auto rifles even and not nerfed them after four weeks like what happened you auto rifles

Hopefully next season they’ll buff it and in addition add more D1 auto rifles and even add a ritual auto rifle
