Thanks for the detailed response, I appreciate it. Admittedly, I don’t game a ton. I just don’t remember ever having a console game I paid for simply taken away from me by the developer.
Is this because Destiny mixes the single-player story structure with an MMO and needs to make up for the lack of a monthly fee? Do see this ‘sunsetting’ of old content, paid or otherwise, continuing to be a trend?

Trust, none of us are happy about 60% of the game (whatever the actual percentage is) being vaulted. They vaulted most of the content because the game was becoming “too large” so they looked at their data for the most “unused” content and decided to start vaulting. And their decision affects newer players like you with a -blam!- ton of confusion. Don’t understand how they ever thought this was a good idea.
