Stasis is definitely a net gain for the overall PvP experience.

I'm not exactly sure what else stasis does but its in the title. Stasis makes it so gunplay can actually be a thing in ways we have yet to fully even grasp. It was a masterful decision on Bungie's part and one that anyone who plays a decent amount can see.

So... It still doesn't talk about freeze mechanics being good. If anything it can be interpreted that players are forced to use primaries more because they're afraid of coming close because of stasis abilities.

I'll say it. I have many, [i]many[/i] hours of PvP in this season under my belt. I have almost a seasonal 3.0 KDA. Vast majority of my kills are from primaries because with Stasis, I can [i]choose[/i] to use them more and not be penalized for it like in previous sandboxes. I can also penalize panic supers and bad super usage while still dying to anyone being smart with it. I can penalize mindless apes even easier while also being penalized if I'm not smart with my aggression. So here it is: Stasis and freezing are good for the game.

So what you should've been saying is majority of your kills are due to stasis abilities, finished off by primaries. Also why are you hiding your recent games? What's your KD? Since you're talking about kills, then why include assists?

I hide my games because a few of the more toxic members of this forum are apparently 8 year olds. They like the "Oh yeah 2 months ago you went negative. Get outta here trash" nonsense. And no. The vast majority of my kills are primaries only. Now most of my muktikills or super shutdowns are either primed with Stasis or a special is involved, but that makes sense. Now have I had those games where I just wanna ape right back at the ape competition? Sure. But when people are slowing their game down because Stasis exists and can punish the previous form of aggression we had, primaries flourish. And you can't really deny that. The forms of aggression present in the previous seasons is easily punished by Stasis.

Hey remember when D2 came out with double primaries that was super slow and hated by everyone? Why would you be saying that slowing down the game more is a good thing when it's already incredibly slow? You're basically telling me that players should be punished for playing aggressively, and only passive play is good.

D2 vanilla was significantly slower than what D2 is now. That isn't even remotely a good comparison. And no. I'm saying mindless aggression should be punished. And fact of the matter is in the previous sandbox, almost anyone could grab a shotgun or a fusion or a sniper and not even consider pulling out a primary. You could hold forward with a shotty or fusion and still find success. You could just snipe and nothing else and find success. Can't do that now. You will be punished and you should be punished for playing without thinking.

How is sniping remotely punished by stasis?

Well we got the insane movement of Behemoth, the Warlock melee (since snipers last season could easily snipe within 16m), and the double shuriken of Revanent. Not to mention the grenades that can freeze or slow any sniper regardless of how they're playing. So yeah. Stasis punishes snipers.

I'm pretty sure that someone wouldn't make a post about Stasis being good if they thought the freezing part of the freezing subclass was bad. But I could be wrong. Maybe should ask the OP if they hate the freezing aspect of the freezing.
