Your first three complaints they addressed. Vendor refresh isn't ever going to happen due to free to play. I know I know. -blam!- those freeloaders.
They have also said faction rally isn't coming back. They have said it like three times. Rally were unimaginative token farms anyway. Let that one go already.
Strike specific loot....should definitely be more of a thing, agree. On a side note I've noticed they added back strike scoring? That's kinda nice!
I dunno man, I'm having tons of fun. Something people don't realize about this expansion is a lot of effort went into optimization and not direct gameplay. Something that was badly needed. Load times are significantly better and graphics update is noticeable. Bug fixes are happening faster.
All the latest exotics have been straight fiiiire. So good. Stasis so far I'm loving. I am soooooo excited for them to expand on darkness and update the light classes. Personally think the future of destiny is looking super bright if they can keep putting out this quality content annnnd slightly increase their output on content.

Cloudstrike is good for Taniks if 1 dude is running divinity and Lament is just a better guillotine. The other exotics are average to trash. Salvations Grip is just a gimmicky weapon. Eyes of Tomorrow sucks and is about as good as Bad Omens contrary to what Ehroar would tell you. Because rocket launchers get a 50% damage reduction against bosses Eyes is pretty garbage in... uhh... everything. Because strike bosses can be melted by anything really. Duality is just a shotgun. Hawkmoon will most likely disappoint.

So... Eyes of Tomorrow being literal doo doo is just my opinion? It does 50% less damage to all bosses. It's DPS is garbage, it gets outdone by a legendary rocket launcher. Wow it can kill 6 guys? Well a warmind cell drops literally any enemy within a 100 foot radius pretty much. But most of the exotics suck or aren't that useful. Lament is good everywhere and cloudstrike is good only for Taniks really. I'm also not talking about if people liked them or not I am stating that most of them are crap, because you said they are all "straight fire".

Eyes is literally going to be the best gambit invade weapon, not to mention the 50% damage reduction could easily be a bug that will be patched. Cloud is good ANYWHERE if you land shots or alternatively have someone run divinity. The shits good, just not god teir in every single activity. That's called balance.

Gambit invading weapon pretty much the only thing it'll be useful for I guess, also the 50% reduction is intentional as this change was made ages ago to sort of combat the Rocket Launcher and Riven problem. Cloud is good and I said its 1 one of the two good exotics. The rest are average to garbage. The Deep Stone Crypt will be one of the worst raids loot wise. The exotic sucks except for 1 part of Gambit, and with Bungie reissuing raid loot every season it seems you will have to grind each season if you want the highest cap on your raid loot, sure you can just wait till you want to grind it again in a later season but that still inflates your play time grinding old gear when Bungie could just update the cap. But Bungie's MO now is substitute new content for old gear grind.

Bro the game is in the most unstable state that I have seen it in a long time. Optimization shouldn't set the game back to a beta-like state. There clearly wasn't enough play testing here, I'm sick of randomly dying out of nowhere too. I will jump up and grapple a ledge and just die out of nowhere. Also I'm now getting out into a queue which never used to happen, weird champ...

Beta like state. That's maybe a bit dramatic? Not sure what happened with your random death, I've hardly experienced anything I'd consider game breaking since BL release. Couple things they disabled and already brought back in record time. 🤷🏻♂️

Alright, here’s my two cents. If you are, in fact, correct about optimization taking up a large portion of their time and resources, than the coming seasons and Witch Queen better have substantially more content than the current season and Beyond light now that the next gen upgrade is out of the way.

I'm totally expecting next year's expansion to stop support for old gen consoles like they did with rise of iron, further allowing them to expand the game. Just my guess but I doubt we will see much larger content, just some good quality stuff moving forward. Luke said they are not capable of something forsaken size ever again.

Yeah, and that honestly upsets me. There’s no way they can’t afford to hire a studio to help, and if they can’t, they need to go back to a publisher. Settling for never being able to top your crowning achievement is not a good look nor is it good for the player base.

How can you say that, though? I’m certain the business is thriving, but they can’t just buy VV and High Moon, which is what enabled the Forsaken state of content delivery. That’s a couple of hundred people, at least, they lost that they weren’t directly paying for originally. Can’t just “afford” that.

They make millions. On top of that, they don’t need to “buy” VV or High Moon. You just hire them to send you a team to help out. And anyway, like I said, if they somehow cannot afford it, they need to go back to a publisher, most likely Microsoft at this point given their apparent relationship.

Of course I haven’t, but use some common sense. They certainly aren’t hurting for funds, they have doubled their staff in the past year. Anyway, get off of the money subject, I said that if they don’t have the funds they should go to a publisher. Like it or not, this game was overall in a better place under activision. We had vendor resets at least once a year, tons of new crucible maps, strikes, and gambit maps, we had Forsaken, etc.. I could go on. Now that Bungie have an idea of what they want to do with the game (seasons, more mmo aspects), they can present themselves to potential publishers knowing exactly what the want out of the deal. Maybe they have tried this or are currently, I don’t know. All I’m saying is just straight up settling and saying “oh well, we can never do that again, so get over it” is not a good luck for the company and is bad for the consumers.

Pete Parsons was quoted as saying ~25% of the company are new hires, but we're not factoring in attrition there. So even with that hiring spree, I'm not sure how you're getting to "doubling" their overall team. I agree, there should be growth, since they're still charging $30 to $40 for the expansion, and then another $40 each year if you want all of the seasonal stuff. Nonetheless, even if they are just contracting out some of the work to VV & HM, you're still looking at least a couple of hundred staff, I would think, to be able to get capture back some of lost manpower from the Activision split. I think their vision is being able to retain complete independence, even if that means the scope is a little smaller than it was under the publishing arrangement, for better or worse, and it's hard to fault them for that from a business perspective. Beyond Light is just as good as Forsaken's core content additions, maybe even better. It's the core baseline that needs more investment (as this original thread was about).

First off, sorry about that whole doubling thing. I thought for sure he had said that, but your definitely right. Also, I completely agree with you saying is Beyond Light is very good. I’ve been playing it quite a bit and enjoy it. The problem here is that they can’t do a vendor refresh/ core playlist refresh AND a dlc, so the core game is getting set out on the wayside. The real issue here is that they continue sending us into the core playlists for be dlc content, and to be blunt, its stale, boring, and outdated. I don’t want to do the same strikes and play on the same crucible maps I’ve been playing on for 3 years. If they can’t provide refreshes alongside the dlcs, then they need help.

I don't disagree. Do remember we are getting two more, at least, with Fallen Saber and Sepiks prime coming at some point, in addition to VoG. I get it's not new.. but I'll take anything over having to play Exodus Crash for the 100th time. Also, on the vendor refresh, even if it's not new, they need to reissue. It's inexcusable to have the Drifter offering up a retired Bygones and Trust, that's a glaring oversight for the new season. And there is enough stuff in the well; I'd be happy to get older D1 vendor stuff thrown in as well.

I agree, not a great look to admit that. I know I appreciated the honesty when Luke said that though. As much as it pains me. I want this game to blowup in huge ways as much as the next fanboy. Love this game. But I guess that is the beauty of his comment, it's honest, and perhaps one day they manage to produce something recorded breaking. That is a good thing to have to backtrack on.
