Next gen loading and matchmaking
So, I have seen plenty of videos showing how much faster the load times are with the new consoles. It leaves me to wonder how loading in with people on the older consoles will work? I currently play on a Xbox one x and when load into strikes or any other match making activities i am usually miles ahead of other players who are (i assume) using older xbox ones. I am usually stuck at the first loading point in the activity waiting on them to load in so I can progress. I have average, at best internet. So I don't think it has to do with my internet speed. So my question is, when I play on the new gen console am I just going to be loading in way faster to wait even longer for last gen players if I'm matched with them??? Or is there going to be a system in place to at least try to prioritize new gen players before matching me with older gen console players? Any clarification would be great.

1 AntwortenIt will work the way it works now for most activities. You will load in first and have to wait. I have a PS4 Pro with an internal SSD and I'll load into strikes up to 90 seconds before other players if the matchmaking made my account the primary, which it frequently does. In other activities like Nightfalls, the MM won't drop you in until everyone can be dropped in, so you'll sit at a black screen until the other players load.
