I've been grinding Survival Freelance in hope of getting legend for the 2nd and 3rd time, however during this season it has been EXTREMELY frustrating to have teammates being disconnected or depart themselves, and yet I get punished for it. The tipping point for me is my experience less than 20 minutes ago:
I'm a busy dude, and I sometimes game on my lunch break. So here I am grinding comp, on a good streak and then I get loaded in with one teammate... ok bummer, but now i have to just suicide until the match is over so i don't get penalized. So that happened. Load into the next game(which I had time for one more) and once again. Load in with one teammate and the other departs within a minute.
My question is WHY should I get penalized with quitting a match where someone DC'd or left first, and WHY does my glory take a hit. I understand in the Survival team playlist, if we weren't penalized or lost glory, then people can exploit it by just having someone leave. But why can't the Freelance playlist adopt this rule. It can't be exploited. Couple this frustration with the amount of cheaters running around and people 3 peeking and hiding with shotguns and swords until their supers charge is making this PvP experience the worst in Destiny history for me. PLEASE Bungie. Give some love to PvP. Please.

If they removed the penalty for losing in the solo environment, it would cheapen the experience for everyone that plays in a team. It would also be much easier. They've also made the journey to Legend much easier than in seasons past. If you are trying to win, why are you playing solo? A personal acheivement? You put yourself in a big disadvantage, no communication, no team work, you don't know if everyone on your team wants to win, potentially bad players, and random matchmaking issues. Basically you are gambling with your glory. When I want to win, I play in a team. This allows you to stack the deck in your favor. You can communicate, make sure everyone has good guns, everyone wants to win and you can work as a team. Many solo players have made it to Legend, including me. However, you need to be decently skilled and have lots of patience for random issues. If you don't have that, probably shouldn't try solo in a team based activity.
