I'd like a reason to come back to destiny
I left shortly after shadowkeep dropped, I've been with this game since the beginning but shadowkeep and what followed was the finally nail in the coffin for me.
Destiny suddenly became a bounty simulation where the loop became pick up bounties and farm lost sectors.
Where loot was concerned, all the best designed loot seemed to be solely dedicated to eververse.
The repetitive, unimaginative horde style mode that followed every season.
Lastly, I got sick to death of the power level grind. I cannot begin to explain what a redundant feature this is in this game, slogging every season to get to cap only to find when the next season starts to find even thralls aren't necessary a OHK anymore.
When I heard trials was coming back I strongly considered reinstalling destiny, though I couldn't bare the idea of having to get up to the recommended light lvl, so I didn't - and I turns out trials is a mess anyway! Despite how long it took Bungie to ensure 'it didn't go out half baked'.
Personally I feel there's no doubt season 11 will be a complete flop - my only hope is the fall expansion is, and, let's be honest, it needs to be the best expansion Bungie have ever produced.
Nowadays when it comes to destiny, be it in forums or YouTube, I only find myself liking or watching things which point out how much Bungie are screwing up, because I'm annoyed at the direction the keep taking this game - but I love this game!
I genuinely hope Bungie turn it around for good, but I'd be lying if I said I was confident they'll pull it off.

I genuinely couldn't agree with you more. I love the game and have been playing since between launch and dark below's release. After shadowkeep's launch the game has just been going down hill further and further each season and when I saw the content for this season I nearly lost it. It's sad to see the game just reskin the same exact system 3 times over in a year for their content. I understand there's a LOT going on in the USA right now and everyone is feeling it, but this is just ridiculous. I can't just accept the fact they made us pay for such lack luster content that was the same thing just looking slightly different and called something else 3 times in a row. I really hope they pull this together with beyond light or this will honestly be the last time I pick up the game. The leaks gave me hope, the stream killed a fair amount of it for me honestly. Bungie please prove us wrong and that you can still put out amazing GAMEPLAY as much as you can create lore for the game. Till then, I'm just gonna teach my girlfriend the game then go back to not playing at all till September.
