Raids are already at a comfortable level.
False, raids are entirely too easy.
I don't agree with the notion that everything needs to be nerfed into the ground to make raids and high level content difficult, but the nerfs from this TWAB were not excessive.
1. Izanagi's Burden received a nerf to reload speed, not damage (yes, snipers got a nerf, but not Izanagi specifically). This gun will still be dominant in Ordeal Nightfalls for it's ability to do high burst damage in a single shot, it just won't be the king of DPS as a Special weapon anymore, which I see as a good thing.
2. Grenade Launchers have been dominant in the PVE meta ever since Joker's Wild making all other Power weapons pointless. This nerf will still allow Rapid Fire Grenade Launchers to perform well, but not be the ONLY option. I'm looking forward to having other DPS options such as Linear Fusions.
Other than those two things, the only other PVE nerf was to snipers overall. I personally don't think that nerf was necessary, but you can be certain that Snipers will still be used as top tier options for DPS.

Nah, they were excessive only because they've already nerfed plenty of other archetypes. I don't see much of a reason to touch GLs how they did. Top 30 Power weapon DPS contains a single Aggressive frame. (Swarm is right under that #30 spot). So anyone who farmed a L&D is now better off using Wendigo. Or Prospector. BUT WAIT - Top 30 also includes: 1 Shotgun 1 Bow 5 Swords 5 Linear Fusion 2 Snipers The kicker? Power GLs aren't even in Top 10 anymore. (With the exception of Anarchy which is best paired with Mtop as well as it not working well on some bosses) Top Ten belongs to Snipers, Linear Fusions, a Sword and a Shotgun. Swords are on the Top 30 SEVEN different times (Light and Heavy attack values are separated). Rocket Launchers start after #50. Machine Guns start after #30. So basically all this change means is that people are going to go from some Snipers and GLs to less Snipers and GLs... and not much else fills the gap with the exception of LitS. Really needed to give that one archetype breathing room even though it's currently #4 on DPS values, lol. You wanna join me and we can spend hours pondering how we'll get up to Sanctified Mind with an Acrius or a Goldtusk? No? That's cool. We'll just keep waiting for another streamer to dictate what seems OP come next month. I happily await the next set of nerfs provided by one schmuck that'll help shove us into Enrage on any raid boss in order to get a kill. It's like not we went from 1-phasing to Multi-phasing already anyway. We can definitely use more. It's not like these raids have been out for years now. Oh, and they definitely haven't stopped rewarding pinnacle gear anymore.

I'd love to see your source on that, because there is a big difference between burst damage and sustain damage (ie Wendigo has high burst damage while Swarm has high sustain damage). It is also worth noting how Legendaries compare against Exotics, because I suspect most of the top DPS weapons on your list are Exotic, having high DPS Legendaries that pair well with high DPS Exotics is why the current OP meta exists. On top of that, I find it VERY hard to believe there are 5 Linear Fusion rifles in the top 30 on any list, especially given that there are only 11 weapons in that archetype total. I'll agree with you that it is not feasible to fight many raid bosses with short range weapons, but that is not a good argument to say that long range weapons should do the same damage. You should be rewarded for getting up close and personal with a boss, at least for those that allow it. I'll also agree with a problem the game currently has that prevents short range encounters with bosses. Of the 7 D2 raids, only 3 raids allow you to get up close, the others are based around long range encounters that require you to use some sort of ranged weapon. I'd like to see more boss encounters similar to Warpriest from King's Fall. The fight is designed to be done at a distance, but you can take a risk by getting up close to use short ranged weapons, this allows for these types of weapons to be used in a high risk high reward situation. The problem we currently have is that every D2 raid boss that can be attacked up close is a braindead one phase given the ease of use of abilities like Well and Bubble.

Bearbeitet von FauxPhox: 2/24/2020 5:41:18 PMhttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zMju9dbJNfhR112FHCIZftd3oo0fnUykaYo23DsXlMA/edit?usp=drivesdk Look at the ammo expenditure time. Anything above 30 seconds is a little impractical for raid bosses given their damage phase timing. That large time frame really only applies to Sword light attacks and Box Breathing weapons (with the exception of Whisper because of White Nail) Any LFR that isn't using Box Breathing takes around 25-30 seconds. Comparing that to a Grenade Launcher/Izanagi combo, it's pretty similar in time spent shooting. I don't know why you're surprised that linear fusions are listed several times for the Top 30. Machine Guns suck. Rocket Launchers suck more. What does that leave? Four Grenade Launchers, 1 Shotgun, 1 Bow and a buttload of Swords. Can't really have so few weapons take up many slots for high DPS. But whatever. It's irrelevant because they'll never undo any of their poor choices. You worded it yourself. Most bosses aren't designed with short range in mind. And if they are, they have a stomp mechanic which only delays you using that short range ammo. I can't turn my Acrius into a Chaperone. I can't reach most of these guys with melee attacks let alone Swords. I don't like using Leviathan's Breath personally. So this update will leave me with less Grenade Launcher choices, less Sniper choices, and maybe make me consider using a LFR every once in a while. Breathing room for other weapons my ass. All it will do is limit things more. And then these more preferred weapons will get used more because so few archetypes are practical, and then they'll nerf those as well because of some crybaby on his YouTube channel is not feeling challenged enough. All good though. We should all enjoy this slow flush down the drain.

Yep, correct answer right here.
