Verify Integrity of Game Files

I've been continuously running into the issue of my game crashing, as I reinstalled it originally to steam after moving it from battle.net. I've looked up past fixes to this issue, such as deleting the steam_appid.txt file, however my game files don't have that to begin with. I also have moved all of my steam files from my /x86ProgramFiles to my regular /ProgramFiles or whatever the thing is called, and that only worked for about an hour or so before it crashed yet again. I've done one (1) full reinstall of D2 and that hasn't worked out either. I'm super pumped to get back into the game from a bit of a hiatus and play Shadowkeep, but I can't play the game at all at this point due to the constant crashes. Any help here would be very much appreciated.

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. We are currently investigating this issue. Some players report they have fixed this issue by following these steps: 1. In the Steam Games library, right click Destiny 2 and go to Properties. 2. Click Local Files then Browse Local Files to open your Destiny 2 directory. 3. Remove all files in this folder EXCEPT "Packages." 4. Then verify the integrity of Destiny 2 game files. Some have also reported that swapping to a different language and swapping back helps.
