Fiction - All Life Grows (3)

And so forth, our heroes venture deeper.
A hobgoblin’s frame explodes from behind a vine covered hole in the Garden walls. “One on the other side too?” Terin-3 puzzled, he moved towards an unguarded relay standing before the inner Garden’s gate. “Symmetrical. Everything comes in twos here,” Alemia answered, calming her stance. Yukon leaped behind some rocks for cover as the large door slowly opened. Empty. Before them laid a garden trench with statues lining for miles, an opening went straight down the middle, wide enough for a sparrow. “I don’t trust them,” Yukon cautioned, scope fixated on a particularly well positioned goblin statue. “They’re in trouble, Vex don’t wait, let alone provide a entrance. They want something,” Terin-3 said, finding a small sense of comfort in this strange act of trust. Alemia summoned her sparrow, and burst off with a blast. “Last has to lead the way out!” She yelled, Yukon and Terin-3 quickly followed suit, it would be a task getting out. The door closed behind. “Yukon, you’ve read some archive pieces on these guys, is this behaviour new?” Terin-3 asked, the three turned left around a bend, almost in sync as their sparrows aligned to fill the newly widened statue gap. “No, it’s been reported at the Vault of Glass, during the Taken War,” Yukon replied, stomach shaking as the looked at the millions of Vex statues lining the sides of the path. “Do you know why?” Terin-3 responded, occasionally bumping his sparrow to tease Yukon’s cautious behaviour. “Well, the Vault was at risk of getting Taken infested inside, so that might be why. But they are the enemy still, can’t forget that,” Yukon answered. The three slowed as they reached a portal sitting at the end of balcony stretching out over a radiolarian pool. A single harpy sat at the left of the portal, with a blue eye looking back at the three.
As usual, all feedback welcome. I’ll be adding a link to the original post if you’re new and interested. • Okay, now you’ve posted three chapters in as many days. Time to hit the brakes. Posting too often is not a good thing in these forums. When one person makes several posts within a short period of time, one usually ends up upfront while the others get buried. This, of course, is especially bad for writers trying to post consecutive chapters. On top of that, many posts from one person begin to flood the forum, becoming an space-filling nuisance that is frustrating for any person trying to use the forums. It’s especially rough for other writers and posters, who have to worry about their own posts being buried under others. So I seriously recommend you set up a posting schedule for yourself with a maximum two posts per week. For example, every Tuesday and Friday. I myself normally post every Saturday. This does not mean to stop writing! Write as much as you want at your own pace, please! But save those chapters and post them slowly to avoid flooding the forum.
