I am hopeful the next expansion will feature The Deep and the mysterious enemy type associated with it in the next expansion. For those who remember the opening scene in Destiny 2, the shadow that ended The Golden Age is a pyramid. Uncanny looking pyramids are awoken at the end of The Red War. A very similar looking one is corrupting hive in the moon. Remember the last scene of Shadowkeep? Look at the sky. It’s coming soon, the tension can be felt. It is only a matter of time before we face the foe that ended The Golden Age again. Dear God, I hope we are ready.
If you want to full theory about The Darkness, give me a comment.

For a second I thought you were talking about speaker of the deep's deepness.
offtopic stuff
% Too soon. Way too soon. Why introduce the darkness invading before we even handle the other major threats like Savathun and Xivu? Or the worm gods? Or what about the Vex situation? The Dreaming City Curse? Sorry but they have a better chance appearing in D3 vanilla. %

Are you writing a 'The Boys' fan-fic or something?

Woohoo! Let’s destroy all of our loot again!

Is that an innu- wait, my bad, you mean the Darkness. Frankly, I'm not looking forward to it. Bungie may or may not make a new race, but odds are they'll just be Taken or Scorn 2.0 in terms of annoyance rather than threatening. It's also just one more enemy race we have to fight, and we're already fighting on a 6 front battle with every other race. I'd rather them wrap us up on fighting one or more races first before we get our shit slapped. Speaking of the latter, it'll likely just be us getting roflstomped in cutscenes while we proceed to do the exact opposite in combat shortly after.

I'd rather have savathune tbh... She's been built up so much that at this point if we don't get her Imma be pissed
-
<If Bungie wastes the Darkness's invasion in an expansion I'm going to exterminate the universe.>
-
Thought I was in Offtopic for a second... Anyways, not in an expansion It needs its own game, I’m sorry.
-
We actually got a new enemy type with Shadowkeep, being Nightmares. Nightmares are the manifestation of Darkness, so they don't count as the enemy they're representing.
-
I’m so glad people actually responded

I’m ready, I am going to go out there and find them myself and kill them.
