Utility for mute or mic'less players

So, ive got the lucky side of a bad coin where i can hear, but cant physically speak. An i know there are deaf players, as well as those that would rather not use a mic for a list of understandable reasons. Is there any way we can get an option to put a small waypoint within in the players view, using the hipfire reticle as the targeting mechanic? It doesn't have to be as in depth as apex (and please make it smaller than what siege used at one point) as far as PVP goes, this would be really helpful. Even for the speaking players because they can make a simpler call out added with "on my tag" PVE it wouldn't really serve a purpose outside of saving people setup time for raids when showing new runners where to stand. https://ibb.co/ZNPTyjY https://ibb.co/JHXNzv5

  • As I regularly communicate with people having talking/hearing issues, I can't agree more. There is a game, ArmA. Yes, it is on PC, but some UI elements from it may be used with gamepad. Basically it is "wheel of commands". In ArmA they are given via numeric and function keys (F#, say, F7-5-5, that could mean "unit assigned to F5 key, send your status report"). This could be used to command very large unit formations (I tried company sized, about 120 men). Of course this is not RTS "rubber band magic", but given everything happens in first person view - fairly easy to use. Select units you want, give them command, and they'll follow. Sometimes to a degree of older Rainbow Six games, where I spent hours in planning mode only to watch how my AI subordinates complete the mission flawlessly on their own. :) As I understand, console gamepads support dual buttons pressed, so if some sort of "communication menu" could be assigned to it, all basic commands could be used there just fine. PLUS! There is multiplatform title, Star Wars (hold your horses!) Republic Commando. That, by my opinion, is not only one of the best SW titles ever, it has reasonably smart team-mates. Yes, every position for them was hard coded, but simplicity of use is exemplary. Any given command should have relevant text at player who gave it, so if someone gives "Follow me" command, recipient player should see that just for ease of use. Same with attack commands - "Watch this direction" or "attack minor/major/boss/that thing". So instead of emotes (or with them), some more branching command/communication tree shouldn't be that hard to implement. After all, we need few movement and attack commands. No matter what kind of rust bucket this engine is, these features shouldn't be that hard to implement.
