Plus better maps, better raids, better gunplay, and better exotics.

D1 definitely had better maps. Better raids? No. Not even close. VoG is favored literally only due to nostalgia. Take that away and it leaves a lot to be desired. Crota was the weakest raid to date. King's Fall was great, but the final encounter had so much crap shoved into that it was beyond frustrating at times.(Not to mention the bugs) WotM was the best D1 raid no doubt, but it alone doesn't outshine the raids in D2. Leviathan was okay, Eater of Worlds is short but fun, Spire of Stars is just god awful, Last Wish is phenomenal, Scourge of the Past is great, and Crown of Sorrow is great as well. Gunplay? Eh. Some cases, yes I agree. I think TLW feels light years better to use in D1 compared to D2 as does Thorn, but guns like Thunderlord, Truth, Hard Light, Outbreak, etc... all feel so much better to use in D2. Better Exotics... I disagree largely here. All the ones they've brought back from D1 have been improved, and a good handful of new ones are amazing. Hell, even Celestial Nighthawk in it's current state in D2 is buffed from the D1 version, and it honestly didn't even need it.
-
Not even gonna lie. Went back and played some D1 the other day, the gunplay in D2 feels a little better.
-
Some guns may feel better to use (better sounds and feeling) but most of the weapons in D2 have to much recoil and are not as effective as they are in D1.
-
D1 gunplay compared to D2 is ass and sluggish. Not to mention far more inconsistent. Better maps, yea for the most part. Better exotics? Yea no. Definitely not
-
better maps = agree on this better raids = totally debatable. Each raid have their own theme and feel. It just depend on your taste. better gunplay = not sure one this. One thing for sure D1 gunplay is much more forgiving if not easy. better exotics = hell no. At this point D2 exotic is way more fun and exciting.

Bearbeitet von Carrot Canks: 7/23/2019 4:53:25 AMRaids could be proven objectively, and as for exotics, no.
-
Bearbeitet von GrandStyles: 7/23/2019 2:57:38 AM>better maps Ehh, it’s ok >Better raids/gunplay/exotics Lmfao no. Hand cannon bloom is the only thing worse gameplay-wise. The raids overall are better in D2, Last Wish>WOTM. And better exotics? Lmfao.
-
D2 raids are trash sorry. About 6 mln players agree, vs may be a max of 200k.
-
No Last Wish is the best raid, with WOTM as the second best and VOG as the 3rd. In my opinion anyways
-
You know...this is prolly how my list would go as well. Last Wish is a legit Raid. It's neck n neck with WotM, but uh ..yea man I like that 1-2-3.
-
I mean last wish and leviathan to me are amazing but still no VoG or oryx
-
Are you excited for the new vex raid? I always enjoyed VoG, not because its gameplay was that good (it was alright but not amazing) but more because of its lore, theme, design and mystery. I think plenty of raids have had way better gameplay than vog but we havent had a fully vex raid since vanilla! (Eater doesnt count it was smol and set on leviathan). Im super excited for a new, big vex raid.

I rly don’t know yet I’ve preordered it even though I told myself to wait but black garden raid IF that’s true could be interesting though
-
gun play is the same minus some tweaks...its the same engine.
-
Clearly not the same gameplay. Did you play D1?
-
Just because it's the same engine doesn't mean that the gunplay will be the same. COD Black Ops 2 and COD Advanced Warfare have the same engine but they have much different gunplay. The reason is the differences in game balance and the mechanics for the rest of the game.
-
gun play is the same minus some tweaks...its the same engine.
Battlefield and Fifa also use the same engine. What's your point?
-
Better raids is debatable. D1 raids in my opinion were way to easy, with the exception of king's fall. Some people feel they were the perfect difficulty. D2 raids on the other hand are much more mechanic heavy. Some people love this new system while others hate it.
-
King’s fall was one of the easiest raids sorry. Must have had issues shooting one sniper bullet in the head of a knight or pressing X to jump on a platform. That doesn’t make them hard. Must have been one of the late comers to not know the VoG.

-
I’m a DH bc I contradict your opinion that D2 raids are more difficult than D1 raids other than Oryx? Yeah right.

When it comes to D1 raids they were much less wipe mechanic heavy, they had a lot of more subtle mechanics for getting better damage phases, while D2 raids are more difficult because the enemies are mostly just horde mode majors while you have to juggle 3 different wipe mechanics on top of the base mechanics to progress. D1 had better raids in general structure and enjoyability, in my opinion. When it comes to objectivity though, more people are likely to play and get through a D1 raid than they are to get through any of D2's raids. Even Aksis and Oryx were much more forgiving to mistakes than Destiny 2's raids are. With Crown of Sorrow, you have to have absolute perfection to get to a single damage phase, and even then you still have to do it multiple times. Harder isn't necessarily better.
-
And that's why Bungie needs to find a middle ground like we had in D1.

arminus-d for the win!!!!!!
