With a single ViDoc, Bungie have effectively slain the beast known as Infusion with Armor 2.0.
Hey Mentors/Ninjas/Mods, please sticky.

Didn't watch the vidoc. Are they actually removing cores from infusion?

I would say they are removing a major factor behind the Cores in Infusion argument: Armor 2.0 will let us keep the armor we like visually, but we can chuck in Mods that will determine what kind of Perks the gear will have. A major possibility is that Cores will become a more available resource in the future. With New Light, I think the grind will be non-existent and we can easily Infuse what we like into the armor we desire, with the focus shifting to the Mods and the kinds of personal builds we can make.

It wasn't mentioned, but if you play the free version, your character starts out a 750 light level, so I'm interested in what the plan is.
-
That's not 100% correct. You will play the game progressively, starting with EDZ and ending with the highest tier of content you have. Naturally, there will probably be Power Surge quests to push you through each destination until you hit the bare minimum Power for Shadowkeep.

They are launching a free to play version that includes all of the main content and expansions (iirc, not all forsaken content, but some) and your character starts out at 750 light level.

Just a revamped version of the Cosmodrome tutorial mission.
