Auto rifles are low-skill, basic, dumb weapons.
They should always have a low skill floor AND a low skill ceiling.
PvP would suck if they became dominate and everything was auto rifle spray.

Bearbeitet von JubaAE: 5/7/2019 12:11:46 AMIf you think Autos are low skilled weapons then you have no idea what you are talking about. Autos require you to stand right in the open (you can't duck in and out cover like if you were using a handcannon). Also most autos have very terrible recoil and flinch, they also have terrible range (unlike a pulse were you can shoot enemies from safer distances). Honestly i am just bored of handcannons and pulse rifle metas (they have dominated throughout most of destiny's history). Also the buff that i am suggesting would not make auto rifles insanely overpowered, I just want them to be at least usable.

Come to pc in that case and use m/k.

No weapon in destiny takes skill
No weapon in destiny takes skill
Nah shotguns take so much skill you don’t even know, Lunas and not forgotten take an unmeasurable amount of skill like smh dude get your facts right

Takes more skill to head shot someone with a scout than it does to body them with an auto rifle.

An auto is only good when a target is in plain sight, but otherwise they have no real advantage besides easier consistent damage. Handcannons are better at closer ranges due to their high damage, at more accurate in the air, are really the only accurate hip fire weapon, peek fire, and ammo efficient. I'm not going to list the rest because that's annoying to type out, but basically, the only time autos are ever dominant is if everything else was either nerfed or they started out bad. Literally twice now, autos were good in year 1 of destiny...and then not again. This is because they are afraid to make them good, even when they have to compete against the juggernauts of crucible which are handcannons and pulses. Autos have a significantly higher skill ceiling against competent players due to having to control the highest general recoil in the game, flinch, and constantly tracking player movement, and accounting for headshots or bodies which are harder to manage in PvP. Autos are only easy because you hold the trigger, but in a game with the type of movement Destiny has, burst damage that pistols, scout-Like weapons, or burst weapons will always be better. Even in d1, the only time autos became meta again was because of doctrine of passing, which was a straight laser beam of bullets and it's ttk was the fastest and the bodyshot to headshot ratio almost rivaled handcannons. So if you think autos take no skill because you hold the trigger...try using one against people who know what they are doing. I guarantee you it wont go well. Handcannons and pulses are just so much better for crucible that their skill gap is pretty much non-existant. It's like picking the best character in a fighting game. Just because you get good with them, doesn't mean you could be good with somebody else. I have a friend who can play almost literally every character in mortal kombat 10 at a tournament level because he plays it constantly. He's played against a bunch of the top tier players and have whooped their asses with straight garbage characters. It's funny when people try to use skill as a means to say something should be good or not, because skill doesn't matter once you play the game long enough.

Agreed on almost everything of your statement, except for the skill part. Skill matters a lot on pvp, specially with auto rifles and smart people playing, you dont have a chance if you don't land only crits at this point of crucible, even on the best case the ttk of auto rifles are just drepressing, you have to be smart and have a high skill to follow the target with your dot sight perfectly (m/k).

I agree with what you said. I think far too many people downplay what actually has to be done with an auto just to be optimal.
