♤ Icarus Bloodstone - Troubleshooter: Page 9 - The Drifter

"That could have gone worse." Icarus states while ordering a bowl of noodles from the bazaar. Proxy joins him, playing a playlist Icarus made before the Red War. "Proxy, remind me to make a new playlist, this one's outdated.." The bowl arrives and before he can take a bite, a hand lands on his shoulder. He's still upset with the whole incident previously, and his reaction shows it. He spins around, ready to throw a fist, almost knocking the noodles right off the counter. "Woah there, kid! Take it easy!" A rough voice matches the rough face of the stranger in green. "You could hurt somebody." "Who are you? What do you want?" Icarus relaxes a bit, and turns back to his meal. "I'm grieving." "Heh, I can see that, but spicy noodles aren't going getcha anywhere! But, I might know what will." He flicks a jade coin up like a toy and catches it easily without looking. Icarus turns to him, eyes squinted. "What are you on about?" The looks around and leans in, his lips practically touching Icarus' ear. "Gambit." He whispers. He smiles and pulls away. Icarus has more questions than answers. "Gambit? What are you on about?" "A little game I made for sad chaps like yourself. I'll explain the details when you're done, i'm just around the corner." He points to an almost closed gate with subtle light coming from inside. Icarus chuckles, "You want me to meet you in a back alley to play a game?" It sounds worse when he says it. The man shrugs, "Well, when you put it like that, exactly!" He laughs and walks off, saying one last thing over his shoulder, "Oh and, if you're looking for a job, I got somethin you might be interested in!" Icarus doesn't want to admit it, but he's curious. He eats a bit more, then gets up, adjusts his cloak and walks over to the alley. His hand on his gun. "Hey, what do I call you, anyways?" He says as he ducks through the gate. The man is scavenging through some crates, then stands and turns to him. "Call me Drifter, kid. It's what everyone else is doing." He laughs for a bit then shakes his hand and grins. Icarus is still confused, "Everyone else? How many people are we talking about here?" "Plenty! But first, I gotta ask you something. Did you happen to see the warden's servitor on your way out of that prison?" Icarus slings his gun to the Drifters face. "How do you know about that?" His tone has shifted, his hand shakes. His eyes narrow. The drifter doesn't flinch. "Oh come on, you think the whole damn city doesn't know about the death of the Hunter Vanguard!? Ha! Kid, you sure are somethin else." He makes a good point. Icarus lowers the gun and looks down. "Sure, I suppose. What about this servitor now?" His tone shifts again, this time a bit sheepish. He is interested though. "That's the spirit! Come walk with me and i'll explain the details. Maybe teach ya about Gambit on the way! Ha!" He wraps his arm around his neck and walks him out through the bazaar. They chat for what feels like forever about how to get to back into the prison, how Gambit works, why it's 'totally the best,' and a few other odds and ends about some topics the Drifter rambles about. Eventually they get back to the tower hanger, both now laughing at a joke. Drifter looks to Icarus, "Alright, it's getting late. Glad I could talk with you, 'hero.' I'll see you tomorrow for that little mission, yeah? I got the other two informed and waiting for you to arrive." He slaps his back which echoes off the hanger walls Proxy is charging on the rack under FWC, and Icarus makes his way toward him. Drifter shouts one last thing before walking back tiki the bazaar, "Don't forget to stop by Gambit sometime! Haha!" Icarus laughs back, then turns to Proxy to boot him up. "Login, 'Arcite.'" Proxy boots up. Scanning the room, he finds Icarus and does a little wave. "Hey buddy! Ready to head out for the night?" "Of course, sir. Let me pack my things." He says this, but doesn't move. Icarus grabs a basket full of bits and pieces and they both walk to Icarus' ship. "I've got a big day tomorrow. A mission there Vanguard doesn't even know about. About time I go freelance, huh?" He elbows Proxy, who does it back much harder. "Oeff! Proxy!" Icarus drops the basket and holds his side. Proxy lets out an automated laugh as they step inside the ship for the night. They take off, sights set for the Tangled Shore, and the Prison of Elders.
