Maybe with the decline in population this is the result. I haven't played since dec 6th. I also live in the north east, maybe higher local pop? D1 lag was a joke with guys blinking all over the map, d2 was never as bad imo.
Dedicated servers are the answer. I play gears of war with people from Mexico and halo 5 has a lot of Russians, but I don't experience any lag with them.

Well D1 had sbmm, at least prior to RoI. It also had a significantly higher population, still does. Those two factors might be why we have different stories. I’m just sorta in the eastern US and the people in my state have the lowest gaming population out of the entire country, another factor also likely playing into this. So yeah, different locations and different games probably led to different experiences, hence why you say sbmm works and I don’t. Make sense?
