A few thoughts on Destiny 2 and main issues from a casual point of view.

Yes, bring it in to reality

No, I think it's a bad idea

I really don't care, just let me play already

Destiny 2 starts out with an interesting system at first, it even seems fair, since everything is completely random. Everything from weapon perks to drops. But after spending hundreds of hours chasing that specific roll and that specific armor piece or weapon, you still have to settle for the next best thing (in some cases even third, fourth or fifth best thing). The grind for that armor piece that'll fit you perfectly or that roll on your scout rifle/pulse rifle/auto rifle/hand cannon etc that'll complete your "build", after a while it becomes pointless. When that pointless feeling comes around, the game is losing a lot of it's value and most players will chose to move on and foolishly come back with the next expansion hoping things are better this time. And they are, amazingly they are better. For a while you completely forget about perks, rolls, values and so on, because you have unexplored content to explore, you have new unoptained items to obtain and during that chase, you might get what you wanted so many months ago, just to find, that with the changes that came with the game, those values are no longer what you need. With that the grind starts all over again, only to come to the same conclusion as previous, because nothing have changed beside the sandbox, you're back in the same pointless situation again with the same pointless grind. There needs to be a system in place, to give the pointless grind a point again and I think I have a suggestion on how to solve this. I'm by now means saying it's the perfect system, but it's far better than what we have now. Enhancement of gear: It would help out a lot, if we could enhance our gear, in such a way, that it will have what we want it to have. For example, During a strike I come across a set of gauntlets, which is of the mobile variant, with Scout Rifle and Autorifle loader, Fusion Rifle Reserves and Sniper Rifle Scavenger. I love the look of them, but the perks makes them completely pointless to my build and thus every single pair of gauntlet of that type have 0 value to me. But what if I could enhance them, to have the perks I'm looking for on my build? From other armor pieces, I've managed to extract 10 Restorative archetypes, 10 Pulse Rifle Loader and 10 Special Ammo Finder, and with those and x amount of gunsmith material, x amount of legendary shards and x amount of planetary resources aswell as 10 Enhancement Cores, I can now get the base version of those applied to the armor piece. Raise the cost to 2.5 times the base value after that, for the enhanced version. Now all of those armor pieces I've found and dismantled without even checking their properties, because I didn't like the look of them in the first place have value, now all of the hours spent grinding for that perfect piece isn't wasted. As for keeping things in balance for hour PvP side of things, Enhanced Scavenger perks shouldn't have more effect than the regular Scavenger Perk. I'd love to hear other players having any thoughts on this matter and I'll make a post, as I think it'll make it easier for bungie to see "Here's something we as a community wants" or in the case my idea is just completely wrong, "Here's something we do NOT want".

  • That's a bit too elaborate of a system tbh. But perks should unlock and the player should have an easier time making the decisions over how they want to spec their character. Farming should still be a thing and you should still need to earn all the specs you want, but the limiting factor should never the chance. It should be based off of time and effort to reward the outcomes desired. Just let us earn the roll options for each weapon / armor and pay to collections to roll it as we want. Increase the usability of the game at the cost of in game materials (shards, ect). Re-balance PvP by allowing people to roll weapons the exact same as their counterparts if they so choose. Make people farm 20 'Dust Rocks' but not 2000, let the game be reasonable and enjoyable. Buy rerolls from Xur, now you've unlocked another option for your theoretical 'God Roll' exotic. No longer usless, just less useful. (lolz) It's much simpler to implement and allows players the same end result as your post. Please correct me if I'm miss reading your idea.
