Everyone you play with through random matchmaking or that is currently on your anthem friends list is considered your alliance. You get a share of the xp earned by the members of your alliance. At the end of every week, your total xp earned is tallied up and you and your alliance get coins based on this amount to spend in game. Basically, alliamces are an automatic, worry-free way to gain extra loot and xp. If there are actual guilds or not we have yet to see. Thanks for reading and please join our discord!
