I'm struggling to find reasons to log back in. I haven't done the new raid. I'm not max level... I've done both Forges... I want god roll weapons but why? Why do I want them? Are they really going to improve the game that much? I'm doing just fine with the weapons I have? I'm not particularly enjoying the game right now... At least not enough to warrant the grind. It's been so effing long since I've gotten a new exotic. I don't know how many times Bungie have said they were tuning the duplicate rate but nothing has changed for me. I went to Ikora for my weekly reward and was thinking "It's going to be an exotic. This time, it will be." AND IT WAS But it was a duplicate. I think it's my 4th in a row? I've gotten 2 since Black Armory, both duplicates. I have no new exotic armor for my Warlock. It's all old. Every DLC that releases gets boring quicker than the last because Destiny isn't a new game anymore. Exotic drop rates shouldn't be like they were in D1 Y1 because back then the game was new enough for us to not need new exotics to help us enjoy the game more. So far every new exotic I've gotten, minus the Thunderlord, has taken a backseat to the things I was already using anyway... Trinity Ghoul... Even with Arc Singe sucks balls compared to nearly anything else. There are some game changing exotics that would have extended my enjoyment of the game but they just aren't dropping. Week after week grinding the same god damn milestones. The same boring old checklist of chores to do for the week. The same big open world where our progression is funneled into a tube that is the weekly milestones... Softcaps are inherently limiting. They limit what you can do in the game if you want to progress. I spent a lot of time wanting to play Crucible when Forsaken launched but I didn't have the time... I had to do the milestones! Now I don't even want to do Crucible. I got burnt out from having to do things in the game that I didn't want to do every week while not doing the thing I actually wanted to do. Double the max power Remove softcap Let us level up by playing anything through legendary engrams, even if they only grant +1 over your max power. At least then there's a reason to log in when there are no friends online and grind Crucible or Strikes. Flick the switch that allows duplicates to drop into the effing OFF position. Allow us to ACTUALLY ENJOY THE MOMENTS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE EXCITING instead of rubbing our faces in the dirt.
