So I'm just genuinely curious is there anyone out there who has been getting absolutely railed by rng. I don't just mean with forsaken up until now I'm talking about since the beginning of your destiny experience (unless forsaken until now is your experience). Just to name a couple from recent experiences it took me over 60 runs of escalation protocol to get my first drop. I also recently carried my friend through Last Wish for his first completion just to watch him get two One Thousand Voices while I'm past my thirteenth run with no such luck. Not to mention that as far as exotic drops go I have only gotten a couple since forsaken launched and 9/10 of them have been duplicates or the stupid sparrow from strikes. Look i know this kinda evolved into me just complaining about rng cause you know it kinda sucks and it has made it difficult to do anything in black armory cause i just keep getting powerfuls for the same slot over and over but I am curious to know if anyone else has had this kind of "luck".

Well it could’ve been a mix of random but with means to control drops, like being able to farm bosses or activities for the loot pool you need. Should’ve had a knockout list from the start that you could select the perks/traits you favour so working towards drops doesn’t feel like just blind luck. But everyone wanted their crack so it’s just play to pull that slot machine lever in hopes this time will be the one.

Where it sucks for me is when I need boots and class item and keep getting special and heavy weapons. Then when I look at the weapon it is lower than what I currently have equipped because my average power is drug down by my boots and class item.
-
Right now i think i got my 40th kindled orchid without killclip/rampage on 3 days of farming, i got every other combination of perks but not that combination, idk why.

Not me. I got it all

Bearbeitet von crazymike: 12/17/2018 7:08:46 AMBorderlands had a pretty good loot system. They didn't roll snipers with "hip fire grip" and "slideshot". One gun had 4 rolls: reload, dps, weilding, and stability and they were all viable weapons, not a hodge podge of BS that got instantly sold off. You could also load into a zone and farm bosses for certain weapons. Bungie made 5 or 6 perks viable and you rely on RNG for the weapon and perks. Everything is a slot machine. That's pretty silly. The whole "Well, if it was easy nobody would play" argument is a load of BS. If the CONTENT is there, people will play. Most people don't have 30 plus hrs a week to play a slot machine. There's a core group here that would be happy running around in a circle and shooting at the sky for 288 hours a week with the adderall addicted streamers, but you cater your game to those folks and your audience gets pretty slim. Endgame is getting your gear together and wrecking. Doesn't matter if you're wrecking raids, the forge, crucible or gambit. When everything is based on slot machine odds even when we've reached "end game" it gets frustrating. *edit* You can't really "wreck" because there's a damage cap.

I would say yes. After a looooooong drought if zero exotics, in the space of a week or so I had two of best hunter exotics drop for me, shards of galinoir and the chest piece for spectral blades (the name is escaping atm) I also had Cerberus +1 drop for me (from a public even no less) Gambit RNG is the worst and thr bane of my existence. At this point Im only playing gambit for a god roll distant relation. I'm getting nothing but armor pieces. If I ever get a god roll distant relation Im done with gambit.

I will admit, RNG has been ok for me with regards to levelling. However, I had a prime engram drop at 3 more than what was already in the slot, I’ve never had a PE drop that low before. I still believe the system is broken, although some will argue it’s RNG.
-
I've always heard the more you play the more Bungie makes you grind. Im beginning to think its true.

Bearbeitet von TheShadow-cali: 12/16/2018 6:28:36 PMThe RNG was rough in D1 but it wasn't this bad. As far as the duplicates in this game, it's an absurd amount because of the lack of loot in the loot pool.
-
It's the worst loot experience of any game I've ever played.
-
the best answer is: "Sometimes I feel unwelcome in this game". Whole month my friend gets weapons with god rolls, exotics after strikes (forsaken exotics). Im playing nearly everyday and i still get duplicates like borealis. Today i was helping to close my friend LW raid for the first time (ive closed 5) and sure he got his 1k voices. I dont wanna continue crying about rng or something, just found someone who has the same problems as me. Sometimes I feel unwelcome in this game.

Blame the idiots that said shit was too easy to get!
-
I had some great RNG lately. Except for last night. Two fusions at 650 in the raid and two gloves form the prime engrams! I’m stuck at 646!!!
-
Yeah I don't think I've even had one exotic drop since they released forsaken. No exotic engrams nothing. That is a bit low odds. I don't grind or anything and it wasn't commonplace for me to get an exotic or anything, but I could expect at least one drop every few weeks or something like that.

rng is fine, i rlly hated the destiny 2 kid year edition

A paragraph would help here, man

I know that feeling too stuck at cayde's will gambit tuneing.

Bearbeitet von Prof Sheitbag: 12/17/2018 2:27:29 PMBungie doesn't understand RNG at all. They have a weekly activity, and in it throw specific weapons that have a ridiculously low drop rate. Did not get it this week? Come back again next week! If they were smart, they would have the loot pool limited for specific activities that can only supply certain things, like the raid. Instead of, you know, having the edge transit drop in just about every damn activity...

Been getting back into Skyrim lately, and the loot in that is always genuinely exciting even if not appropriate for my character. It can be disenchanted, sold for gold, given to an ally, displayed in my home, etc. Destiny needs a loot system that rewards and every drop is useful in 'some' capacity beyond just weaponsmith parts (that only lead to weak legendaries as well)
-
Yeah that is why xur was so popular
-
I still haven't gotten a single Antiope - D
-
Yes. Can’t get One Thousand Voices and just drops in general for light levels are dumb. For example, getting two or three helmets dropping in a row, at the same light level, when boots, gauntlets and chest are way lower. Not to mention l, the loot pool for energy weapons seems much larger than for all other slots, so I keep getting them! I’ve got to 640 without doing the new raid yet, but it’s been a real, relentless grind to get here.

Bearbeitet von Mortal_Resonance: 12/16/2018 6:37:59 PMWord. Since they nerfed the exotic drop rate, I've been royally screwed by RNG. Excluding quest exotics, since Forsaken launched I've had exactly 2 exotics drop in the wild, 1 of which was a dupe AoS. I play for roughly 15-20 hours a week, borderline casual, lost interest in chasing exotics and the majority of my legendary drops have poor random rolls. If the legendary has higher power, I'd use it for infusion, but that economy is also screwed... So I'll stay borderline-casual, 'cause screw investing more time in to this grind just for the game to throw me abysmal rewards for my efforts.

Bearbeitet von STARKILLER2258: 12/17/2018 7:17:18 AMI wonder if its really random at all. I have seen patterns that are almost too diabolical to be random. One example was back in the kings fall raid days. I was somewhat humming along leveling up gradually with the 3 characters, and the cross infusion was working nice. Get an extra pair of hunter raid boots at the same light, no problem, give it to the warlock to infuse his boots, etc. Well, when the 320 ghosts were next to impossible to get I finally got one. Great, I can transfer it to each character, because i'm 319 and will be 320 soon. Uh, no, because right after that point I stopped getting anything that could be cross infused. My warlock needed boots, the titan needed arms, and the hunter needed a class item. My characters stopped getting whatever the other needed, and I was at 319 for months and that 320 ghost didn't mean jack shit. They all had 320 helmets though, but nothing else. Near the end I did 8- 9 consecutive runs over a few weeks and got nothing in the raid. I think I got 2 guns. Remember those year 1 vanguard bounties that would drop the exotic quests? Dismantle 10 fusion rifles. No biggie, they were falling from the sky.... UNTIL you got that quest, then you didn't see them anymore, and I asked a lot of people at that time if it was happening to them, and they all noticed the same thing. It seems to know just where to screw you.

This has been an issue in Destiny, not just with Destiny 2. From the outside looking in, it appears that way Bungie creates seeds for their random number generator is biased. Hence, the apparent good luck or bad luck and lots of duplicates wrt RNG. In Destiny I had a friend that would never get ships to drop for him. The after an update Blackwax stopped dropping. It appears the seed has a component that is based on when a character is created. Without looking at their code, this was the only logical explanation we could find.
