Hey all,
We’re aware of reports that Sleeper Simulant feels strong in Gambit. The Sandbox team is currently looking at potential changes to help with this. We want to retain the strength of the weapon, but tune it so it doesn’t feel to be the only viable power weapon in this mode.
We’ll provide more details when possible. Stay tuned to official channels for updates.

Josh Hamrick provided additional details for how Sleeper will be tuned:
As mentioned yesterday, our goal for Sleeper is to make it AN (awesome) option but not the only option. At this time we are committed to retaining Sleeper’s full power and will be tweaking its ease of use instead by reducing its generous Aim Assist values. This means Sleeper will remain just as effective in PvE while requiring slightly more skill to use in PvP. Assuming you’re good enough to land your shots, you’ll see no difference in behavior. We don’t expect drastic behaviorial differences from this change but we also don’t feel it’s that far off. We’d rather ease in tweaks like these. We can always push on it more in the future if it’s still deemed necessary Thank you. ❤️ Sandbox
You don't have to rely on reports to learn this: Just play one Gambit match (and if you only lose the game, rather than getting DoSed, count yourself lucky.)
-
Just give Titans a shield slot so we can have various shields ranging from the mobile disc shield to large tower shields (prevents secondary slot use?), that can be used to deflect sleeper sim shots back at attacker, or one of their teammates. ;) Exotic mirror shield auto deflects Sleeper Sim shots with small chance of auto-deflects back at Sleeper Sim user. Just like the deflection of Laser shots in Halo 4...that was fun. :) As long as there is a fair counter to Sleeper Sim and other powerful guns, or abilities, etc. I would prefer things not get nerfed.

I killed 16 with SS, in 1 match, about a week ago. Got hate mail. Was chuffed about it! It is OP in Gambit, but only because of the Gambit set up. Otherwise everyone would be using it in crucible, but they're not.
-
NERF IT INTO THE GROUND. Players are running 4-stacks and abusing it beyond belief. Just nerf it till it’s useless because that’s what the players who used it deserve. It’s obnoxious to play against or with! Players thinking they own the heavy ammo because they have OP Sleeper and invaders basically griefing everyone they kill with it. It has been long enough. Serious Bungo. It took 2 years for D2 to be decent again and now you’re taking forever to nerf an obviously OP gun that everyone has an issue with.
-
Yes.... Nerf the sleeper, that's the gun that is too overpowered in Gambit... -Hugs his thousand voices-. But seriuosly, I get 3 shots from a brick and I can wipe the entire enemy team with 1 shot even if they aren't all that close together
-
I have a great idea for you guys, why not leave all damage the same on sleeper but simply reduce body shot damage. This means players will need to get headshots in order to deal max damage, that way players in gambit don’t get one shotted across the map to the body by sleeper. To compensate for its lack of one hit kill to the body, simply reduce the charge time so players ttk can stay about the same as what sleeper does now. The gun would still feel strong, critical damage is still the same, it will probably do even more damage with reduced charge time against bosses and everyone wins. Now if the damage is too insane then simply reduce the critical damage.
-
Don’t touch sleeper in gambit, it’s fine. It feels like a heavy exotic and that’s what we want our exotic to be. I think the change needs to come with invaders. The reason sleeper is so broken is because of invader perks such as seeing every player, knowing when they are going to peek out. That ability for invaders makes sleeper the way it is. So don’t touch sleeper, touch on the abilities that are making it over used.

Reduce the amount of ammo carried
-
I've played Gambit quite a bit and I use the sleeper. I don't see any issue with it at all. I get kills with it, I get killed by it....no complaints. Really hate how the Bungies first, last and only action for every issue is nerfing.
-
I'm not a Nerf guy, but something has to be done. When an ENTIRE game mode revolves around one gun there is a problem. I've noticed I'm being matched against the same teams quote often. This tells me the population is shrinki already, which is sad. It is also becoming full of carry services, which is even sadder. I guess they have to do something since trials is gone. If Bungie doesn't do something significant about sleepers in Gambit soon the mode will be effectively dead by Halloween. Too bad too, it was fun the first week.
-
Just give less ammo in PvP and Gambit only ammo from the heavy ammo box
-
People who are defending the sleeper are trash at pvp.

Bearbeitet von MindfulPizza: 9/30/2018 11:43:48 AMSo when is xur going sell us the mod, to balance the sleeper on gambit . for are excotics . ? instead of the long drama and get build a guardian like xur. ? the exotic mod that reduces sleeper damaged on exotic gear , so not need to nerf the weapon . and then build new weapons. even if first xur quest is a bounty that insane , not jumping he guardains that shoots shit . in the shadows., to unlocked the weekly gold mods , instead of nerfs.

Mf goo goo gaga baby want a baba. Need to start handing out pacifiers for all the crybabies. All I hear is I can’t do this, I can’t do that, make it better for me. Grow some mf balls and learn to defend yourself.
-
Lame, next people are going to ask for rocket launcher nerfs. Slippery Slope
-
The game mode is trash and toxic. It should just be removed and tie the loot to another activity. Only other solution is make Gambit a race and nothing else and remove invasions.
-
Aye, the whining is almost unbearable. I haven't played a whole lot of Gambit (only at Guardian III rank) but I mean damn grow up and quit complaining. If you're going to go and invade the opponents arena, they are justified in doing whatever they can to survive and get you out of there. Don't like it? Well that's just too bad then, isn't it? Lmao
-
No heavy when invading. BOOM! Problem solved

My thoughts on a better fix. You need to address the problem, not the symptom. The sleeper is a symptom. And nerfing it will only lead to calls to nerf what ever replaces it. And calls to nerf what ever replaces that. Cure the disease instead of treating the symptoms.
-
Why can we not see if your loading versus a four stack before the game starts like crucible. So that those who dont want to fight a four stack. can leave before the match just food for thought.
-
This Sleeper issuse is something important. Sleeper is not the true issue here, only the scapegoat. The ability for Invaders to consistently see where the defending team is located is the real root of this upset. Sleeper is not common in PVP because without the ability to see everyone's name tag, it's just like any other heavy. Seeing as we have data to support that satement, it should be clear that we need to instead tweak the capabilities of the invader's HUD. I propose having the defending team's tags appear on the HUD in bursts, fading out after appearing for a moment with a few seconds delay in between. Sleeper is only this prominent because Invaders know where people are before they have time to react.
-
When will you notice that 99% of every invasion -blam!-ing sleeper stimulant is used to kill ?!!!! My -blam!-ing god. I won't play gambit for casual play until this problem is fixed. It's -blam!-ing annoying that im risking to hold out big blockers for a bounty that you created and im losing 15 motes every single time to a sleeper. Gambit is the least enjoyable game mode. Also if i know where a invader spawns I should be able to see him but I can't but the invader can see me clear as a sunny day. I -blam!-ing can't stand invaders advantage.
-
How can you guys be so blind to see that sleeper ruins this game mode? I dont understand how that is possible.
-
So this weapon is still nuclear grade trash in Gambit. The "nerf" did nothing.
-
So. After getting sleeper and trying it in gambit. It’s not balanced at all...not even a little. I got a full wipe on the enemy team twice with very little effort. The only counter is to hide and pray. So either you die. Get a kill with your sleeper. Or waste time keeping out of line of sight.
