They did that in Destiny 1, and guess what? Matchmaking was slower than everywhere else, and then it was eventually switched to rare rotation/removed. It wasn't that popular, and the people that complain about it on the forums will only complain about being matched with better opponents, lag, a weapon, and overall matchmaking. There is no pleasing them, there will always be something for them to complain about.
I play solo, duo max, and matchmaking can be a pain, but a solo queue playlist will not be the savoir some people think it will.
It is an FPS game, people should expect to come up against stacked teams in PvP at some point. Solo players should NOT only play against solo players. Forcing teams of all sizes to always play against fireteams just to suit some solo players who can't handle losing for whatever reason is just silly, especially when they will still complain.

Well you shouldn’t really be matched against better players, it should be of the same skill, nobody is gonna improve being constantly put in against stacked teams that are also of better skill

I agree with you on this point. Losing to better teams is part of the game, it is part of how you improve. However, if the pvp matchmaking algorithm or whatever (I’m obviously not a game programmer) is not tuned to pair players up fairly, you never get a chance to get better, just frustrated. The designers have obviously designed the game to record and store all kinds of individual stats on each player, so the question is, can they take all this information and use it to make matchmaking more balanced and fair. I hope so.
