Once again Bungie shows it cares little for its veteran and loyal fanbase.

So...all the different armor sets that I've gone to great lengths to put together for the last year to get my characters to look a certain way based on what subclass I'm using are going to be obsolete??? This is D1 year one all over again, where we grinded raids to not only get to max level, but to have our guardians look like we want and have the right mods to get our regens and stats where we want theme. That's just an insult...and once again Bungie is not respecting the time we've invested in our characters. And why not add random rolls to year one weapons if they'll keep dropping in year two? Again, it's D1 dismissal of the time those of us have been playing from the beginning, and I've stuck with this game since D1 beta. It's no different than before infusion was introduced very late into D1's lifecycle. The weapons and armor sets we worked hard for were made obsolete every time the light cap was raised. Oh but it's nbd a lot would say...it's destiny not 'dress-tiny, ' and it's an FPS, so you don't see your character much anyway, but that's wrong; A lot of people do care, which is why so many people started playing again with the release of Rise of Iron because Adept versions of weapons and armor we introduced, and all the things we cherished that had been obsolete were viable in all activities, not just vanilla crucible. I'm a sword junkie so I see my guardian in 3rd person view a lot, and with the new emote wheel, we all see our guardians in 3rd person a lot more. Also bringing back power levels advantages to Trials and IB is another mistake. At least in year one of D2, winning in IB and Trials finally became about who was more skilled, but now even a highly skilled player is at a significant disadvantage just because an inferior player has a much higher power level. Many of us have families and jobs and/or don't get to do many raids, where most of the max power level gear comes from, so because of this we'll be penalized in IB and Trials. Power level should only matter in PVE with things like Heroic strikes, Raids and other such activities. To make it a factor in PvP makes those activities less about skill and more about who has more free time to invest into reaching max power. I loved hearing so many of the changes year 2 was bringing: being able to carry three shotguns due to the weapon slot changes, weapon perk randomization returning, improved buffs to exotic armor and being able to make exotic armor into masterworks, etc. But once again Bungie takes two steps forward, yet also one step back, and the only thing they seem to care about is luring in new players or old ones that left D2 within its first few months. It's still a constant that those of us who stuck with this game and Bungie through the first year are not appreciated, and that is unacceptable, because it was people like us who kept this game alive while Bungie got their act together. I never thought I'd be one of those people who said they've had enough, and are walking away from this franchise, but if the most loyal fans and players are not shown the appreciation we deserve, then Bungie doesn't deserve us. And I'm sure I be bombarded with comments like, 'you won't be missed.' or get over it, as the trolls love to do, so have at it...I'll keep my money, and they can continue to support a game and company that doesn't respect the loyalty those type of players have shown by staying with the game through the hard times.

  • Not from me friend, I couldn’t agree more. I think the problem is that they no longer have the necessary talent. They began hemorrhaging that talent back in 2013 when they ran Joe and Marty off. The current Bungie couldn’t copy D1 if they had 10 years to try. D2 is a pathetic attempt at copying D1. Remember what Destiny was originally billed as? THE WORLDS FIRST, EPIC MMORPG/FPS. And now? It’s a shallow FPS with garbage matchmaking. They sealed their fate when they ran off Marty (a BUNGIE FOUNDER) and Joe (damn near a founder). They had huge teams, each of them, teams responsible for all of Bungies past success...and all those people are now gone.
