I couldn't agree more. Bungie is done as one of the big guys. They've turned themselves into a laughingstock, a basket of memes. Whoever okayed the use of their engine effectively killed bungie. If they had a functional engine they would at least be able to make timely fixes to all the countless stupid design decisions in this game.

  • On top of this, they lied and said they had a new engine that would allow them to provide content and updates quicker. What a crock that was.

  • So so much this, this engine is the same one from before the taken king, thats why there are still vault space issues and that annoying jump backwards instead of up. Also the reason none of the post TTK quality of life fixes are in the game.

  • Its the new old engine, the best guess is that people who looked into it surmised that after taken king they tweaked the engine, they did not have the time or desire to build a new one from the ground up. They have never said it was a brand new one, just an "upgraded one". Its why the same problems that were in d1 are still plaguing the game to date, like vault space and any fixes or patches taking forever to implement. The thinking is that after TTK Luke Smith took the available engine and started developing d2, Barret and the live team were left to upgrade d1, its why none of the qol updates are in d2, they were never there to begin with. It shows a total lack of communication between the different teams at bungie. One was creating a game with no input or collaboration from the team that was updating the current iteration of what was available. Makes you wonder if the d2 team was even playing the game at that time
