We're frustrated because we care about this universe and it's community.

I think I may have an idea of why this game is so badly received by the long term fans of destiny... Personally I believe it's all because of how we fell in love with destiny from day 1. The brand new experience of a new universe, game play and amazing scenery which caught us and kept us playing to even today. That's because you built up destiny 1, and kept building it. every expansion gave us numerous new things to do, new activities, new armour and weapons (no f***ing re-skins (seriously have you sacked your entire art department besides scenery?)), new characters with long term story impacts. By the end of destiny 1 we had a huge game, HUGE. ... And then you threw it all away. Just like that. Gone. In it's place is a repeat of year 1 destiny... but this time the people who already loved your game expected something new, and you failed to deliver that. It's infuriating because yes, we understand you wanted to bring in more casual players and get them into the universe too but the community that worked so damn hard just to stand up and defend that first year of heavy, HEAVY criticism on destiny 1 aren't prepared to do it again for something that doesn't engage them anymore. Destiny 2 was not aimed at the people who loved the franchise, and as a result we don't have a reason to replay activities. No reason to log in and do strikes. No faction we can grind consistently without having to wait a month between rallies (and tokens like an arcade instead of meaningful reputation (whoever came up with the token system should be shot)). No reason to jump into the crucible when the player pool is so small it's 3v3 now instead of 4v4 half the time. No reason to do the raids because we've done them a hundred times already. The game should have been an add on to the original instead of a standalone, like a new TTK expansion so we could keep all our old strikes, loot (which you now throw at us like it's a f***ing shower and it takes 10 minutes to get everything in the game) and locations so the game just got bigger. It is too small now since we all came from the huge experience of Destiny 1 and we don't want to wait another 3 years to get there again. Maybe think about not making anymore standalone versions of the game? Maybe from here on out beside platform upgrades, just make the game bigger, even if you want to overhaul it all to make it new, just don't give us the world for years and then expect us to be happy when you give us an island. That's my theory anyway, maybe people agree, maybe they don't. I'm going to keep playing anyway with my clan since I love the lore and it's the only reason i do log in now. Just a few other notes: - I love the new weapon system, kinetic energy, power. I just think some power weapons (shotguns, fusions and snipers) need there damage majorly increased. Pvp the weapon system is alot better than D1 for the skillful and tactical players, although the issue of time to kill being too long should still be addressed but we'll see in the sandbox update. - New locations look amazing, just give more meaning to lost sectors, and let us rerun story missions as we want to, same with strikes. -Crucible dedicated servers needs to be introduced. People are tired of connection issues in matches. I hope this game gets bigger and bigger. I don't want a destiny 3, I want destiny 2 to keep expanding so we keep everything we have now for the rest of destiny's lifetime. No fresh starts where we just no longer have the ability to roam venus or the arcology. Just make the game bigger and better, don't take things away from us anymore. - Arc [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in.
