Like 99.99% of Destiny 2 players, I am not a game developer. But I am an adult. The way you treat paying customers (and obviously passionate supporters of your product) is embarrassing.
Even if your stance is firm that diverse loot will never return, an acknowledgement is long overdue. Your silence screams for more and more attention with each passing tone-deaf blog.
The industry bar for communication is set within reach, and Bungie just doesn't care. Shame on you.

Listening to "die hard" fans are the reason random rolls were removed. Constant complaining from PvP players (mainly Trials) caused D1 to be in a neverending nerf cycle. That in turn, caused the changes in D2. These forums made their beds, now they can lie in them.
The way you treat paying customers (and obviously passionate supporters of your product) is embarrassing.
People, please stop using this "paying customer" bit. You've already paid for something, it's not an ongoing fee you are being charged for. You bought it and you don't like it, we get it. No matter what way you slice it, a game is a product just like any other product. If you buy a Big Mac and it tastes like crap, do you go ranting to McDonalds about how their crappy burgers are a disgrace to people that buy them? I guess you could, but do you think it would really make a difference? They are still going to sell billions and billions of crappy burgers. My point is, so many people seem to think because they paid for the game, they are owed a lot more then the game they got. Guess what, sometimes you get hosed. That's life.

Random rolls, in my opinion, are not worth bringing back. In-depth customization with an improved mod system is better path forward and that is the conversation we should be having. Otherwise, Bungie seems to be addressing our concerns. On the 27th, they have promised ability and super cool down reductions and damage buffs. We have been asking for this. They have promised better utility for snipers, shotguns and fusion rifles in the future, which people have been asking for. In essence: stop promoting a false narrative. Accuse Bungie of what they’re actually doing, which is taking too long to address issues.

Mods could have semi-substituted for random rolls, if they had perks, say a kinetic mod that also grants explosive rounds/triple-tap/etc.
-
Random rolls can be substituted with static so long as there are enough of them which there currently is not. If we could get something just as interesting as random rolls that is perfectly fine with me.
-
But there are random rolls. Instead of the same skinned weapon having differing perks, the same base model weapon is re-skinned and given a different perk setup. This is just a different form of random rolls if you ask me.

It could be that during D1, most of the "die hard fans" complained about random rolls. This mainly extended towards player hunting for rare weapons like the eysaluna, imago loop, grasp of malok ect. Players were outraged that they hunted for hours to get these weapons and got bad rolls on them. This was mainly an issue during the clever dragon/matador meta, players complained their friends received their Nth godrolled matador while they have yet to receive one. Or that after hours of grinding iron banner, they hadn't gotten a clever dragon.

I really hope you're lying about being an adult.

They're not ignoring us, just giving a higher priority to stroking casuals and attracting PvP tryhards. This requires boring exotics, dual primaries, and participation award power leveling.

I'd like Bungie to be more open too, like doing a developer livestream QA or just seeing the people working on the game engaging in the forums rather than a weekly update by someone who is paid to make weekly updates and reply to some random thread very rarely. Also, as a diehard fan of Destiny, my core concern isn't loot or random rolls but the lack of viability of solo play in both pve and pvp content. I just want to run the nightfalls like I did in D1 ;(

Preach it!

Bungie honestly never really listened since D1 launch, at first, they did but by the time the live team formed, it was pretty much just the live team listing to feed back.

<I don't want random rolls. I just want more guns with more diverse perks... and better ones at that.>
