I think I might know the answer to this one.

I am full expecting D1 repackaged as D3
-
Bungie is disrespecting the community by developing D3.
-
I swear they’re trying to kill the game and get out of contract with activision... no big company like bungie is that dumb... well who knows anymore I give up
-
Judging on how D1 and D2 both started, is anyone going to rush for the pre order this time? Is anyone going to believe a word of what Bungie say? Or promise..
-
I think I might know the answer to this one.
I think I might know the answer as well... No matter what Bungie does at this point, it will be seen as disrespect. No matter what they do. This community has proven that plenty of times.
Go ahead y'all. I'm ready for the "0". ;)
D3 is destined to fail because of the people they have working on it. Biyearly Sandbox updates that don't balance anything or make the game fun. Empty worlds. Shallow builds and combat tinkering. Uninspiring reskinned designs. This shit isn't ever going to change unless the team changes.
-
The answer to any question that starts with “Would Bungie disrespect the community...?” is an automatic YES
-
doesnt matter, based on D2, D3 will fail on sellings.
-
Seeing as development is already underway, I'm quite certain it's the same engine
-
If it can possibly screwed up and made worse, then Bungie will find a way.
-
Yo Lethal, when did you come back? I've been on these forums everyday and this must be your first post in awhile. Welcome back. No new news, D2 is still a hot mess!!
-
Don't blame the hammer when the nail gets bent.
-
"Making content, is just too hard... So, we will push Eververse and make money that way!"
-
30fps cap for D3. Content is hard.
-
They need to be working on a new engine (built from the ground up) that will allow them to modify the game and implement changes quicker (don't think this will happen though). They also need to have dedicated PvP servers to stop the DDOSing in Trials (don't think this will happen either).
-
What’s wrong with the engine?
-
There isn't enough micro transactions in the world that would give us a new engine.
-
D3 will be 30 fps.
-
Is this tge real LethalViper? If so how did you get back here?

Yeah! especially knowing it's a "rebuilt engine" from the 1900's How cheap can one be that created a game that literally made billions for the franchise and who knows how much they have actually made since D1 released.
-
Time spent building a new engine is time not spent developing the game. Bungie's already proved they cannot meet production deadlines, so they're not about to waste time building a new engine. They could license an engine (Unreal, Snowdrop, Frostbite, etc.) but that would cost money that they're likely not willing to spend. If they had to implement a cash shop in order to meet Activision's revenue goals, they probably can't afford to spend money licensing an engine. I believe they will continue on the same engine.
-
lyingviper can"t think.
-
Bungie has already demonstrated completely that they have no intention, whatsoever, of putting anything substantial BACK into Destiny. No dedicated servers, no new game engine and not a single new weapon skin. You will be lucky if they even bother flipping the existing d2 levels around, change the time of day, make you run them backwards and call the whole thing Destiny 3.
-
Alright before you begin your siege again let me just set up some war rules 1. Insult Luke smith, not barrett as he attempts to revive and make this trash heap better 2. Do not say if you are buying the next dlc as most bought the season pass 3. Utilize new arguments or else your opinions become irrelevant. 4. Use facts, not propaganda. Alright, have fun out there.

By the time D3 comes around, there's a very good chance that a new generation of console will have been released ( or on the horizon) so for a game that will be hanging round for 3 years after release, I'd be very surprised if D3 is based on the current engine. Anybody fancy playing D1 on a last-gen console nowadays? I know I don't.
