I recently received a gifted, digital copy of Destiny 2 on Xbox One. However, the game consistently freezes during gameplay.
I am able to launch the game and select my character without fail. Yet, usually within 2-10 minutes of gameplay the game will freeze. Sometimes this occurs during a mission. At other times, the game will freeze during a loading screen.
I completed Xbox One's support guide for this issue ( https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/troubleshooting/game-freeze-solution ). Quit the game, restarted the console, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, soft console reset, and even did a factory reset. None of these steps resolved my issue.
I contacted Xbox's support chat. In the end they suggested contacting the publisher as I had already exhausted their troubleshooting guide for potential console issues.
Are there any solutions for (gifted) digital copies of Destiny 2 freezing on Xbox One?

First, I ran my wireless router using Port Forwarding (per Bungie's advanced troubleshooting guide) and then with UPnP only. Neither mode resolved the freezing issue. I also tested my network using a wired connection. First, ran it through the router with no success. Second, ran the connection through the modem directly and even that froze after 30 minutes of play. (Typical session duration is still about 5 minutes or less for the other methods.) Ran a connection test with each configuration type and the results for all were similar. Download speed: 60 mbps. Upload speed: 10 mbps. Packet loss: 0%. MTU: 1480. Latency: 66 ms. Wireless strength: 100%. So, still no progress. At this point I've put more effort into the game than it's worth, which is a bummer because I really enjoyed Destiny 1. Probably just going to look into a refund unless someone is able to chime in with a solution that works.

How new/old is your xbox? Is game stored on internal or external hard drive?
