Micro transaction help cover the cost of running a live game! but i agree it needs replacing i'd rather have some form of optional subscription not only would it bring in more money if done right, that money could be used for better game of life changes (dedicated servers) and all the content locked away behind tess could be used to create some form of achievement system or add more depth to other activitys.

This is a "BOUGHTAND PAID FOR GAME" by each and every Gamer, not free to play, get RID of micro transactions all together, it's probably to late already since so many have abandoned this wreck, but the money suckers running Bungie could at least make the effort.
-
lmao, it's also a live game that's constantly updated and has tons of servers running it's not your typical game that a dev can stick a few people in the back room to make fix bugs while 98% of the team work on the next title.... theres a reason devs need micro transactions & subscriptons....
-
The cost of running the live game is more than covered by the millions of sales and ongoing dlc purchases. Make those worth buying, make money. I’m sick of these in game stores. Couldn’t care less if they are solely cosmetic or not - a bought product should be a bought product.

I doubt it.. why do you think we're stuck with peer to peer rather than dedicated servers there's no way this company could afford to run them there's a reason blizzard needs to change a monthly subscription for Warcraft, they would be way better off creating a single player game with this current system. or simply focus on a PvP game only with micro transactions.

Bearbeitet von Kd: 12/14/2017 1:31:25 AMHardly. They charge a monthly subscription fee because that's how you make 10 billion dollars per game. Seriously, look it up. For Honour is getting dedicated servers, it's just lazy here, even titan fall runs on dedis. Both of those aren't as successful as Destiny.
-
They can afford dedicated servers because of very low concurrent players..
-
What? what kind of logic is that.
-
Low concurrent players.. not many servers required even though the games sold well, but with destiny there are millions of people waiting for updates.. and when they come there are much larger spikes in resource requirements. Blizzard release such quality content because they can afford it due to subscriptions and micro transactions. they have massive development teams that can churn out quality much faster.. fix problems faster, bungie are clearly behind where they need to be with destiny in terms of what the fans want. To give the fans what they want the company needs to grow so it can make content faster, i mean where are systems like crafting/trade skills... ranked pvp and more diverse pvp with options? where is all the meaningful loot? this company needs to grow! i mean they got VV on board that's a start i guess.
-
And battlefield? Call of Duty? How does more sales equate to tighter budgets exactly? Sounds like excuses to me. More players, more money, more responsibility, not less. And for honour didn't start with dedicated servers, it became a design decision for the players 9 months in - that's a huge rework and kudos is due for such decisions.
-
Aye fair play to them but for a game where concurrent players peak to ridiculous numbers investment and maintenance of infrastructure.. or even rental changes of said services require more money.... Plus the game needs to pay a second development team that's alot bigger in this type of game.
-
You have no idea of how this works at all, do you, none.
-
How exactly do they need to pay a 2nd development team? Can you actually tell me what new content has been added seperate from the game itself? I can’t. I still don’t see how any of that is relevant when both companies larger and smaller are more than capable of doing such a thing. It is all simply excuses. The entire game could literally run on autopilot if they wished, you don’t need someone picking random events and modifiers every week if that’s what your getting at.

He doesn't know, it's doubtful if he even understands basic Economics.

The live team are fixing bugs adding things like masterworks, also bungo had to get another whole studio involved they say for the pc version but personally I think it's because the game and studio is suffering to keep up with schedules D2 is far from a finished product. Even after a year delay.
-
That stuff is all completely standard.

Bearbeitet von Jeebs: 12/14/2017 3:31:38 AMYes it is, but for destiny there's a ton more going on than your typical bf or cod reskin. Anyways going back to work been a pleasure let's agree to disagree ✌️

Fair enough, agreed ;)
