Don't think you can say it's skill based then say you can see around corners without revealing yourself.

Ghost Recon...explain this then? There's a lot of skill based games in 3rd person dude
Ghost Recon...explain this then? There's a lot of skill based games in 3rd person dude
Or you know, ghost recon isn't based around skill. I don't see why that's a big controversial point, a game doesn't need to be skill based to be fun, I dislike a majority of mobas and other games that are more about skill than reaction.

Gears of war says otherwise.
Gears of war says otherwise.
It says "someone buy my games I'm a dead franchise"

I think you're mixing up niche with dead 👍
I think you're mixing up niche with dead 👍
An xbox flagship title isn't supposed to be niche

Halo is Xboxs "flagship franchise" (and one I'd say lost that title since Reach and afterward. I'd argue Xbox doesn't have any legitimate "flagship" franchise anymore). Gears is just an exclusive to it.

It never was to begin with dude. Never even came close to selling the copies that halo sold nor was it the "system seller" that halo was. It was only an exclusive to Xbox, hardly a flagship franchise if you ask me. Regardless the niche("dead") stuff is the only good stuff these days, I don't need games topping charts only to follow a generic trend. My point on gears though to your original comment was it says otherwise when it comes to peaking in third person view, just about every third person game does it but I referenced gears since it's an E-sport title and you were on about "skill", something I could get so nit picky on with just about any thing and everything.
-
I mean any game can be an esports title if there's an audience. Gears was the fastest selling game of 2006 and the second most played (online) game of 2007, it wasn't a niche, it was a console seller and now it's dying.

So you’re saying it’s literally impossible for 3rd person shooters to be skill based?
So you’re saying it’s literally impossible for 3rd person shooters to be skill based?
Yeah, a game based on skill wouldn't give those advantages. There's nothing wrong with not playing a game without 'skill'. I love fps's and all you need is reaction time not smarts and skill.
-
Reaction time over skills and smarts? So you're ideal shooter is call of duty? Every shooter should require all 3 doesn't matter if it's 3rd or 1st person. To think otherwise is quite simple minded.

To think otherwise is quite simple minded.
The classic "you must love cod" that was my go to when I was 12, the shooter I play right now is Rainbow six siege and I have never bought a cod game. I'm not saying there isn't any 'skill' (I'm really cringing at having to say that so much) but that it isn't skill based, look at counter strike for example, the skill is following the pro's and aiming good, there's not much room for actual thinking and adapting as there's only so many ways to go. This means it's based around money management and aim as those are the factors that change how the game goes, not smarts. This doesn't apply to new games as much seeing how the meta is still developing.?

You know CSGO teams plan for ages about how the opposing team plays what their history is like on the maps and the maps they win/lose most on. Like I said simple minded, to think otherwise. Not to mention half the game is based around positioning themselves to lock off all entry points. Reaction time is purely running and gunning.
