Calus challenge shows how out of touch you are

All four damage plates at once. At best, we have been able to one-phase with three plates. That means three damage phases and three times the duration of battle with a super punishing wipe mechanic upon a single death. I get it: it is challenging. Is it the kind of challenge we need? No. It underlines the FACT that we have severely diminished power from D1. The terrible design mechanic of stronger players playing susceptible to weaker players promotes alienation of those players in a way that has never been seen. You’ve also guaranteed that only the top 1% (maybe even less) will get this done on Prestige. And it isn’t even worth it. Rare emblem. Gear we already have. More tokens. You have lost touch. Keep this in mind when working on your next bit of content: no one works to become more efficient just to throw it away on challenge modes. Now, before people start in on “what, you not good enough?” here you go: https://raid.report/xb/Der%20Sheff https://d1.raid.report/xb/Der%20Sheff I’ve pretty much stopped playing Destiny 2 for the last 4 weeks. Zero incentive. Every time I log in, I only want to do prestige activities (by the way, I have 27 Prestige Nightfall completions. I used to do those too). What does that mean? 30 raids in three weeks with a 60% success rate. Yeah, I can hang in the raid. Now, you’ll see 1 Prestige raid completion. As soon as I restored to elitism, we got it done. I will never do that again. Prestige activities only serve to highlight how weak you’ve made our weapons, and abilities and how far you have diminished class resilience and recovery and made agility pointless. Again, I was a hardcore Destiny player, but my favorite activity (the raid) has become a joke. The encounters are, at best, a dog and pony show with only one real boss. That boss has been made artificially difficult by weak weapons and an arbitrary wipe mechanic that promotes serious elitism. Beating elitism is why I played so much in D1; to show people we could do it without the emblem or meta weapons. You killed that, for me.

I tried telling people this as soon as they announced the new weapon loadout system. We lost substantial dps simply because of PvP. People said, "let's just see how it plays out." Welp, here we are folks. I knew it wasn't going to turn out well. For simple activities it's not very punishing but when it comes to endgame content, it doesn't cut it. Sure, there are people out there that have one plated Calus. However, that's with very tight groups and everything has to go just right. With mechanics that rely heavily on dps, with D2, everyone has to be on par. With D1, one or two people could slack a little and could still be made up for by other players. Which IMO, helped out the more casual/less skilled players. They want more of the playerbase trying out the raid, but this isn't how it's done. Even adding Guided Games probably has barely helped that situation in the current mess of a state it's in by itself. I desperately hope either Bungie changes the current loadout system and keeps it in PvP (if even possible) or completely ditches this system and reverts back to the previous. I honestly think this is the biggest reason as to why there aren't multiple boss encounters like previous raids because it would cause the loadout system to stick out like a sore thumb even more. It's a shame.
