Well, after trying for 4 days, I've now submitted a request for a refund from Blizzard. Bungie, I love you, and I'll definitely still play on PS4, but I don't think I'll ever attempt to play on PC again.

Issue Information
Destination/Activity: All / logging in
Description:
The game never gets past the login screen. Continually says "Destiny servers are unavailable." I know this not to be the case, since I have other friends on PC playing right this very moment. Here are things I tried to fix this:
restart PC
restart modem
restart router
uninstall/reinstall game
verify install via battle.net
delete CVARS.xml
manually run ethernet cord from modem to PC, bypassing router
unlink my PSN and battle.net accounts
nothing works. I have confidence this will eventually be fixed, but in the meantime I want a refund for the $90 I spent (and will happily remove the game from my battle.net account) because why should I pay $90 for a game that doesn't work and eats a ton of gigs on my HDD?
Let's go through this logically, too. I can still log in to D2 on my PS4, so I know there isn't an issue with either my internet, or for my modem to talk to Bungie (at least to their PS4 servers). I know there isn't a problem on Battle.net since I was playing Diablo III earlier. As I'm posting this on my PC, clearly my PC can connect to my modem and have internet. Problem lies on Bungie's PC servers. This is untenable.

Hey sorry to hear about your experience. It happened to my friend. After trying to get my friend to buy the game he finally caved and got it to just be greeted with "Destiny servers are unavailable." We got it to work by getting him to download and use tunnelbear VPN. He created a free account and connected to the VPN and then it let him log into Destiny 2. He then turned the VPN off, uninstalled it and he has been able to connect ever since! Don't know if it was a one-off fix or something... But it worked for him. Hope it can help others!
