With the impending repeal of Net Neutrality, this is a very real scenario we could see from ISPs. In addition to any subscriptions you pay for Xbox Live, Netflix, Spotify, etc, you may have to pay extra to your ISP just to access those services.

Net neutrality is in the best interest of the consumer.

This is such a predictable Capitalist move.
-
Many isp's are telling consumers that nothing will change whatsoever if this passes. Cincinnati bell for example has told me that my price or plan will not have any affect
-
Does this mean less Americ*n's on the internet? I think that would be good for the continued advancement of Humanity

Thank you Trumptards. Not only did you ruin the country, now you ruined the internet too. Assholes.

Whats sad is that a lot of telecommunications contracts are set to expire within the next decade. Removing net neutrality will renew these practices and bring what cable companies did to tv to the Internet.
-
can't wait for my 5mbps internet to get even worse
-
This is a good thing. Since it will be overpriced to have, people will have to go out and interact with people. People with problems socializing will get to practice that. Less cyberbulling and people will be in better moods due to not having to worry about social media constantly, it will be too much.

Real life loot crates.

What stopped the ISPs from price gouging pre net neutrality?
-
This is absolutely disgusting. Who in their right mind would charge money for Bing?

I have until December 14th to download as much porn as possible
gurt™
Good thing time warner isnt part of it
-
I don’t see Cartoon Network or Comedy Central on this theoretical list so I’m fine.

They'll charge exactly what we're willing to pay. Some of these doomsday scenarios are a little silly. Not much is going to change...businesses will still have to provide a service and they will still have to charge a reasonable price if they want customers. No is going to instantly jack prices 300%. If we want the internet to operate like a public utility we should just make the internet a public utility. With will the incentives and tax breaks given to these companies, we probably could have already done it.

Terrifying. >. <

This is why Capitalism can suck. It's something no one want's yet the money boys are going to force it down your throat anyways.
-
Someone will come up with something to byoass it. Its always been done
-
Just gonna shut off my internet if it goes through. Seriously I would save so much damn money it would be ridiculous. With cutting off anything else like Netflix ill just go back to watching cable and get more shit done in my life.
