Every weekend for trials someone on my team or the other team gets kicked because this game relies so heavily on our internet connection.. but on the other hand. No matter how good ur internet is wifi can drop at any moment . dedicated servers would def help tho As far as ranked i would love it..i dont know why bungie wants to put a blanket over its players. Only reason why i keep playing is for the lore,good gun play and to shoot shit with my friends.good stats would be a good thing to grind for as end and also ( random rolls) lmao,powerful gear in prestige mode) Also why did bungie take away adapt guns? Man so many things wrong with d2 lol. I still play tho hope it gets better

I advice buy or preorder the game you want with pay pal. Then if it’s really bad just bounce the amount through PayPal they have a 180 day policy if the product is “not as described”. So you buy the game use there severs then take your money back so the intent is for them to spend resources and you get your money back. Your post embodies the problem. Destiny is NOT supposed to be a pvp game. It’s supposed to be a pve game with a side of pvp, but they got it completely backwards. 90% of players prefer pve yet they spend all their time and energy trying to balance pvp. Until that mindset changes this hand will always be mediocre at best.

I agree with your idea completely...but I am curious why so many people think the pvp is dumbed down. ( I play PC with no auto aim) I am not saying Destiny 2 is good...but Destiny 1 was a total slopfest of supers and tracking this and tracking that...heavy handicap ammo etc. That POS game would "skill based" matchmake me to Europe and Japan and if i blocked laggy connections I couldn't play at all. Again.. Destiny 2 seems like a half assed attempt to improve but its getting better than babies mode pvp. I would like to see how it would be if they would dump the Halo 2 15 year old netcode for dialup modems and fix the handholding meta.

This game isn't on the decline due to lack of ranked PVP and dedicated servers. Those things would help, but it's not the root cause. Destiny 1 had a stable population of players WITHOUT ranked PVP or dedicated servers for a very long time - in fact, much longer than the average life cycle of your standard/traditional PVP-Oriented FPS shooter game where you spend 90-95% of your time in PVP. Destiny is on the decline because of too many fundamental changes to core gameplay BECAUSE OF PVP, which eroded its replayability in PVP. Those changes have rendered the game nothing but a traditional FPS with some additional cooperative PVE content to do - but absolutely ZERO reason to do them. However, since so much was given up for the sake of PVP, the lack of dedicated servers, the lack of ability to choose your different PVP modes, the lack of an actual/meaningful ranking system, etc. all act as CONTRIBUTING FACTORS to the decline of Destiny 2. That is the way I would put it. Those are contributing factors, but not the sole reason for the decline.

Destiny is not a campaign shooter. It is a hybrid of MMO, loot-based action-RPG, and open-world RPG.....with FPS game mechanics. It has had PVP added on to it...but it is NOT a game that was designed from the ground up to be a dedicated PVP-oriented shooter like CoD or Overwatch. So it is never going to have all the things pure shooter fans want or expect. Because many of those things would BREAK the PVE side of the game. Which is actually 60% of the player base.

If D2 needs PvP at all to stay "alive" its better off dead.

Dedicated servers and random perk rolls would turn everything around.

Been playing D1 for a few weeks and slowly noticing matching times decreasing lol . D2 pvp is boring the guns suck and people hold hand team shooting , camp or ape with the last hope .

Like people actually think ranked will bring this game back? maybe but it's still gunna be the same old mida shot thru wall destiny

I personally dont think 60fps and dedicated serves will make much of a difference in the current state of crucible... but that's just my opinion. Current state of consoles could not handle 60 fps either so thats' kind of out of the question (yes I know there are games out there that can put out 60 fps @ 1080 but Destiny apparently cant so lets just forget it) When I am playing a crucible game and hating it my immediate though is not, God this would be so much better if we had dedicated servers! The most fun I had in PvP ever where with companies who never had dedicated servers or 60 fps... I am not saying it would help but PvP will suck (for me) no matter with they had dedicated servers of 60 fps... sure it will be better but not good enough IMO, in fact, even if you say they will put it tomorrow I still wouldnt play it.

There are ranking systems. Theyre just external. Ex: DestinyTracker.net , Guardian.gg etc... It would be very nice to have an in game one though

Bungie does not care about what you want.

You knew D2 wasn't going to have ranked play or dedicated servers long before it was released. It was often a topic of discussion. Bungie even stated it wasn't going to have either of them. Destiny's Crucible is not a competitive, eSport title.

P2p isn't outdated. Most multiplayer games use p2p and there are very few companies that use servers

With a toxic community as this one here is already, ranked games wouldn‘t add anything to this game.
