With all the negativity around the timed Nightfall's, I'm curious what the stats are for this week's PNF (Arms Dealer with Torrent).
Reason I'm asking is that I played with a couple of guys this week I met via Xbox LFG. One guy had 108 PNF completions and the other had 78... Yep, you're reading those numbers right.
At the time my count was 4... I felt... Inadequate, to say the least, but we finished it with about 4:30 left on the clock.
The guy with the 108 completions mentioned how fun he found the one with the giant Shrieker, obviously not everyone shared that opinion, but it got me thinking.
Are you seeing higher completion numbers/attempts this week?
My thoughts are that this week is pretty much the best week for those still needing the Achievement/Emblem, and simply to run a PNF due to the modifier/strike combination.
Unfortunately the reward (powerful engram) isn't any better than a normal NF completion, but that's something I saw was mentioned in the TWAB.
Now the point.
While not the hardest PNF so far, this week has provided enough of a challenge to separate it from a normal NF, but fun enough that I ran it 5 times for myself and to help my clan mates, something that I wasn't expecting to ever do.
This week's PNF has been FUN... Yep... I said it... FUN, and I felt like it needs to be known.
If people agree, please comment in the hope Cozmo might see this as I feel it could be one way of improving replayability... Paring up the right modifiers to the right Nightfall's.
Now, before I finish. I'm not saying all PNF's should be made as easy as this week, far from it because there are always those that want it to be more difficult. I'm just saying, every now and again a fun experience like this isn't a bad thing.
Cheers.
Edit: This post isn't about me or my "skill".
I've done all the PNF's that have been on offer so far.
This post is about the player base as a whole, and how to cater for the more casual as well as the "core" players.
More players are better than less for those still playing... Right?

Destiny players don't want to be challenged.

The shrieked was the best nightfall prestige to complete ! I had a lot of fun doing it. Need more challenges like this one. All you needed was the rigs for the hunter and you were good always dishing out orbs to keep your supers going. There’s tactics for each one you just need to run diff strategies
-
They are fun because we are not wasting time looking for hoops to jump through or anomalies to shoot. I like the timers too, but those two modifiers take the fun out of things.
-
I've guided 30 to 40 people through guided. It's a fun strike. Plus I'm sitting on 300 plus vanguard marks. Good way to farm materials too.
-
Completing the prestige nightfall just seems like a self jerk. There are no bonuses to doing it besides the aura that disappears at reset, and the enemies are just more bullet spongey than the regular nightfall. No real added challenge if your fireteam are all +300

I did the normal NF and had a blast. Doing the prestige one tonight. I almost forget about it. Thanks.

Cozmo won't comment on posts like this, he only replies to worthless shit like emotes.

Pairing the right modifiers with the Nightfall. Dude not to rag you but if Bungie hasn’t thought of that, they deserve to get spanked. That is so obvious it’s not even funny. What is funny is that you thought you needed to make the suggestion in the first place. Just goes to show how badly they’ve bungled this game.
-
The most anyone should have should be right astound 18 or 21 (whatever the weekly count is). There isn’t a damn purpose to doing PNF over and over.
-
Ah as we hear more from bungie and people that have threatened to leave finally have we get nice posts like this. (I agree the game has a lot of problems, but shit or get off the pot ya know?) This weeks PF WAS a lot of fun, the super fast ability regen makes things fun and the enemy difficulty still kept things challenging. I think another question would be “Does challenging content have to be a chore?” It’s easier said than done to make something challenging and also fun, but there’s plenty of games out there doing it right. (do I need to mention them? And no, not just the soulsbourne series) In a game obsessed with balance it’s not unfair to ask for end game activities that are fun, uniquely rewarding, AND difficult in a balanced fair way. As always, that’s just my opinion.

Nightfalls with skill boosts are just way too easy ... Two friends one strike zero bullets ... Nuff said, watch for yourself, linked the footage
-
So.... nerf pulse grenades? Will do
-
So, the TL;DR of this is "people like playing things they find fun"?
-
I ran it around 5 times, had zero failures. It was actually fun doing it, but the rewards are just lacking. It was relatively easy, but still I hate timers. I would love to see them implement another way of difficulty at some point.

Bearbeitet von Rodjenka: 10/29/2017 12:12:11 PMOfcourse there's higher completion numbers, this is not a nightfall. Its easier & goes faster than the regular version. Was it fun? Sure, God-mode can be fun, but not for long & its not really an accomplishment. We did learn that with zero "timers suck" posts in the last 2 weeks that for the majority of "I can do it *cough*, its just no fun" complainers it wasnt really about the timers afterall, but about finihing it easy. I consider Nightfalls now ruined as there's nothing difficult about it, it's more " even toddlers should be able to endgame" nonsense.

Agreed. Having grenades recharge every 5-6 seconds made it a lot of fun :) Just talking about the normal raid though, haven't done the prestige one yet.

Bumping to combat the Upvote posts.
