• Oh yeah? Well,
And from these all living things did spawn. Headwaters 1: 5-7 I wouldn't be making this account if I didn't have a good reason. Something happened to me and I need to share it with someone. Please dont laugh. It seems strange, but just listen for a sec. Last year I almost drowned. I was literally without oxygen for like 4min. You dont know what life means to you until you are in that moment underwater, trapped and hopelessly holding your breath, knowing that any second you wont be able to hold it any longer. I had dived into a lake with some friends, but there was an old sunken pontoon raft deep down, and I got tangled up in some of its ropes. I couldn't get untied. My friends didn't notice in time. When you hold your breath that long your chest starts to burn like fire and your thrash around wildly, madly trying to break the surface of the water that is about to become your tomb. And before you even notice, your mouth just opens and you take a deep breath. Water surges into your mouth and down your throat. And THAT truly burns. Worse than anything you can imagine. As I took in water I was strangely aware of the slight fishy taste of the lake water. Then everything went dark. But I saw a light. A strange light. It was the like rays of sun that shimmer down through the tree canopy when you lay on your back in the shade. But this light was different. I felt different: extremely weird in fact. I seemed to be floating, and something cold and swift was constantly moving past me, I felt like I was part of the motion and yet I felt trapped in it. Something about substance surrounding me was good too: even though it was thick it smelled like fresh air: like if someone turned fresh air into yogurt. In that moment, I realized: I was under water, and the strange light was the sun shining through the surface! But I wasn't thinking about drowning. It wasn't even on my mind. Why was I underwater and also smelling fresh air? What the -blam!- was going on? A dark object darted past me. It startled me. Then another. After that two more. They were fish! Why was I floating underwater with the fish I thought? I should get to the surface and out of the water. Then I was moving toward the surface, and the strange light became less and less distorted, taking the distinct shape of the sun. But when I broke the surface the absolute strangest, most bizarre, absolutely unsettling thing happened: the air stung my eyes! Breathing felt like trying to breathe through a pillow. Reflexively, I went under the water again. What the -blam!- was going on? Below me the dark silhouettes of fish were rushing past. I moved down towards them. Suddenly I started moving faster, like my body entered some sort of current within the water itself. One of the fish slowed a bit as it passed and looked at me: I could tell that it was annoyed with me. It had a facial expression! Fish don’t have facial expressions! What was happening to me? In that moment I realized the stark truth: I HAD BECOME A FISH. A -blam!-ing fish! I’m not joking. Maybe I am totally crazy, but this is what I saw and felt. And it seemed as real as anything. I met Big Fish that day, the wisest of fish. He helped me realize what had happened: I had been reincarnated as a fish! An Atlantic Salmon in fact. As you are probably thinking, I didn’t die when I drowned – my friends pulled me out and I stayed in coma for 2 months – but I had relived one of my past lives. During the mid-19th century I lived on this earth as an Atlantic Salmon. Please don’t laugh. I’m not joking. Reincarnation is real. I relived one of my lives while in coma. Its strange, but my human consciousness somehow coexisted alongside my former, more primitive fish self. I would have been lost if I hadn’t meant Big Fish. He showed me much truth about life and nature. I’m going to be sharing those stories and lessons with you. It is for my sake as much as it is for yours. The bits that sound like scriptures are the teachings of Big Fish: I've organized what I can remember and will be sharing them with you. Again, this is not a joke. But I understand if you laugh or make fun of me. But if I don’t talk about what happened and what I learned, I’m going to go crazy…
