Or at least, without the forums being such a huge part of the game.
Seriously, the community brutally -blam!- the forums and ruined the game. I don't blame Bungie for catering to the community when a good half of them are crying over some stupid shit on this site.

Every community pisses and moans but this one is just up there. Without d2 forums we wouldn't have support for the game. Do you really want that?

It's been pretty much the PvP side. Needs to be order in here like Reddit. Even though, Reddit is not the best place either. The only reason Reddit if kinda better is because the mods keeping order. I have come to figure out that it's not the forums fault, it's human nature.

Bearbeitet von BannedMythicAccount: 3/25/2017 8:23:42 PMMan, it is pretty irritating when you hear a call for what is pretty much an appeal for censorship and closed communication for a product/service that relies on community growth and integration. It's like what's happening with politics, when people try to shut down an open press and discussion forums because they simply don't believe a democratic process should be promoted unless its spun as completely positive to those in power. I let you in on something OP, something you might have been too young to understand at the time. But when Halo came out Bungie had a forum and website which heavily supported and criticized elements of the game, Halo 2 and Halo 3 would come out and the community only grew, in fact the growth of the community had indeed benefited the growth of the series financially as well, it went hand in hand. What Bungie did during this period was cultivate a community and supported them, in turn the community did so and gave back. Halo's success was not a fluke because it was just a good shooting game, it had backing from the players, and from its own studio to continually reaffirm that this was something special. Skip to today, corperate policy and blah blah has always found a way to brute force its way into 'maximising gain' from its customers, sure it happen during MS reigns in Halo, Halo 3:ODST and lastly Reach were more notable examples of pushing it out. But during this period Bungie and the community at large [Even though Reach did bring its own controversies and slight split] worked it out. Now comes OP, a couple of years down a product that shows not a lot of faith was put into following through with it, although the frameworks are solid and show clear signs that it plays like a Bungie title. The attempt with community this time was ushered in such a way, where it was completely obvious that it was going to be a corporate vs community relationship, in many ways Deej can be seen as the symbol reflecting the two meeting points, but it wasn't a compromise at all, as the lines aren't 50/50 but more so 95/5. There's not a lot of room to engage because we know the corporate hammer just doesn't care about what would make the game better for the time-being but more on what it could do generate more profit in the next quarter so quality and content is stretched out over time to compensate for a lack of full commitment. The community lost its voice and it's solidarity easily after TTK, that was the final straw that broke the mammals back for many, maybe some even earlier, players generally only return out of curiosity only to find themselves disappointed again as the train of D1's potential has left the station. D1 community ran mainly on D1's potential but with each release, it showed that it was becoming that mediocre product people would not let themselves believe it was, we as a community hid behind the Gally, we hid behind the repeat Raids and repeat nightfalls to force outselves to believe that something better was coming in the next DLC. It never came. Now OP want's to close a discussion board because the praise wasn't positive enough for Bungie, so he made 2 and 2 together as if the community drove bungie to make a mediocre but potential filled game. This is where we're at today, where shutting down the forums is seen as a solution, My have times changed, but at the same time not really. We're currently in this bubble of a fringe community but the kind of players who have spend so much time in Destiny 1 who have left with such a bitter feeling for the series, has severely damaged any PR D2 can come up with coming in with a new release.

During my time with Overwatch, I've noticed Blizzard is very vocal with its community. Jeff Kaplan himself even goes to the forums to answer questions. They are relatively open about what their development process is, actually acknowledges feedback(good & bad), hints future plans, frequent balancing, etc. Most people just have become upset because Bungie doesn't talk to us besides the scripted TWAB & basically abandoned the forum

Destiny 2 would be better if they focus more on pve.
-
Destiny 2 would be better if it had a Developer that approached game design with the priority being to maximize and maintain FUN for the player base. Dictating to the player base how the game will be played only ends in disappointment This pretty much sums up the degradation in D1. Patch 2-5-02 clearly illustrates the above statement. D2 will most likely carry on with the same principles given the same individuals are working on it. If D2 somehow suffers from poor sales then change(for the better) might occur for a 3rd title but we're talking years down the road. Until such time expect more of the same being released by the Developer.
-
In a nutshell, it would be better off if it lived up to expectations. Thiers and yours.

Ikr. Us asking for vault space, private matches, returning raids, sparrow racing and more ruined the game.

When OP forgets about reddit
-
By forums he means YouTube and streamers, and buy the community he means bungie some devs who -blam!-ed the game up in the past. I'm not mad some of our old content is coming back, but don't act like we had anything to do with it being taken away in the first place, or have any real say in bungies decision making. Especially when it comes to balance.

Destiny 2 would be better without any exclusives, but what can you do... Right?
KUPO!!!
Destiny 2 would be better without hunters which would make the forums a better place is what you should say.
-
Destiny 2 will be better without the shit Xbox one. Hopefully bungie realizes and makes it PS4 Exclusive.

You should remember too, that a lot of times, the majority of people enjoying a game don't spend a ton of time bashing it on forums. The internet thrives on vocal minorities. Constructive criticism and feedback are good. It's the people who trash something they don't ever really, or never have played - or the people who say "this is the worst game ever, why do I have to pay for this" yet they have 100s of hours of gameplay in it, and don't provide any solutions, but just like to yell - they are the ones that drive people crazy
-
I've been thinking about that recently. I'm not sure if I've enjoyed this game more because of these forums, or if it's been more of a pain in the ass. I definitely feel that I wouldn't know half of what I do about the game if I weren't around here all the time, so that's good. Honestly, I think it's just the pvp e-peen star whores who ruin it. Otherwise it's fine.

A community based game would be better without the community? You sound a lot like the current wave of anti-free speech lunatics that seem to be rising in our society, under the guise of "social justice". I'd like yo tell you to kindly go fvkc yourself and the safe space you rode in on.

Maybe the forums would be better without Destiny 2?

Bearbeitet von mja calg: 3/25/2017 5:59:49 PMDestiny 2 would be much better with Regional Dedicate Host Servers for ALL Activities (i.e. Patrol, Strikes, Raids, Crucible, ToO, IB and SLR). Without host servers I won't be buying it and I urge others that feel the same to make their opinion known to Bungie - this is a required element of the game. The D1 2008ish Halo Era Peer to Peer once console is Host is a bad joke. All it takes is one player to go yellow to red bar (especially Host) and then your Crucible, Strike or Raid turns into a fecal storm of teleporting unkillable enemies and broken game mechanics (i.e platforms that don't register, door that don't close etc.). And if you doubt me, take a look over to the Help section and check the Errors and Network sections. The number of people that can't even connect to the game let alone play it without Lag is ridiculous.

Yes more censorship please!
this is America Right?
Just get rid of the internet all together. The world would be better off.

No one asked for the removal of the nightfall modifier or the blue flames

-
Yea they need to get rid of the forums and just keep the matchmaking and news and gear section

The world would be a better place without the forums.

I blame Trials and its community.
