It's funny how people are saying they were barred from end activities, they could have easily created a group on their own and the so many people that were barred from those activities would join theirs.

I did, and I made it through these activities.... but it was hard finding teammates during the crota era when they found out I didn't have a jelly-horn, or despite my hours spent raiding, I didn't have a clear.... so that didn't help either.
