The Chaperone - needs some love (rank up)
Here's a few things about shotguns using slugs for you ignorant Philistines:
* A slug has a longer effective range than buckshot (Matador) or birdshot (other available shotguns); A 50-75 yard shot on a deer is usually well within the performance capability of a shotgun shooting slugs!
* When using a barrel designed to shoot slugs or precise iron sights (Tex Mechanica -> The Chaperone?) this range is extended even further! (We're missing range).
* Though a shotgun shooting slugs will not even come close to matching the effective range of most centerfire rifles, it can easilly be used to take ethical shots on animals 2-3x further away than a shotgun with buckshot (The Chaperone is missing range!)
* Additionally, since a slug is a single large diameter projectile, it makes a very big hole in whatever it hits (The Chaperone is missing impact);
* Shotgun slugs retain their energy better and typically penetrate much deeper than buckshot (like the previous more impact);
* A shotgun shooting a slug is also far more precise than a shotgun shooting buckshot. This means less margin for error (The Chaperone is missing aim assist);
Now can we have The Chaperone fixed? This are all real world valid reasons.... I don't care what you do to the Blunderbuss (Matador), but at least fix the goddam EXOTIC The Chaperone to act accordingly to it's technical details, not to mention it's a goddam Tex Mechanica piece! Not some blunderbuss any idiot can fire!

Chaperone is totally fine. Its an Sci-fi Shooter, dont bring real world stats to make something happen. If you hit headshots the Chaperone has a better Range than a Matador. With Roadborn active it has a better Range than any Shotgun in the game. It has a pretty tough skillcurve. But this is what makes it special.

Or, you know, you could git gud.

Some more range would be lovely.

Shhh I love the chaperone, as much as I want it to have a buff, I don't think that would be a good idea, people would see the buff and try it out just to discover its power, we can't have that

Bearbeitet von Droid: 12/27/2016 11:52:06 PMLol. I ran the Old Chap religiously after I got it. A fine piece indeed. Then it had it's nerf. Been collecting dust since. Sometimes I let Amanda Holliday play with it from time to time. She loves to whip it around. Even though she loves it, it could use a buff. Nothing wrong with having more range and impact.
hope some of you guys got a laugh.
Great idea, it would make the quest that tryhards did in crucible or people who cheated it by doing srl actually feel like the quest was worth it

I love this guy, everything is so true. I remember firing my first slug round. It was about 80 feet(maybe more) from a mountain, and it still took a huge chunk out of it. Imagine a headshot... Bungie, know a simple thing or two about guns.

I ALWAYS use the chaperone. It is balanced trust me. It has the longest range and a very fire RoF it just takes more skill

Really though. It should be like a scout rifle-shotgun cross breed
