So with SBMM being the all the rage at the moment. Many people have listed various reasons for "why" it should be removed. It is very obvious that SBMM is here to stay. (I'm not complaining) But perhaps we can compromise. My suggestion can remedy ALOT of issues players are having in the Crucible. Simply put. AI Bots. However, not just any AI bots. I am talking Adaptive AI bots. AI that uses the technology that Nintendo's Amiibo's use. Basically these AIs "learn" from every defeat, and adapt to counter moves, combos, patterns, and strategies. Eventually forming their own strategies. They are still beatable but they become as challenging if not more challenging than Humans. So no matter what bracket players are in they will have fair yet challenging opponents. Also, cheap tactics will eventually become useless as the AI formulate counters to them & punish spammers. Which would promote players to change up their game & loudouts. (More unique/diverse weapons possibly.) These should be default implemented in Public Crucible. Here me out first! Hold onto those Triggers people... Public Crucible - How AI remedies it. So Bungie has stated that MM uses CBMM first. However due to the massive variance in Skill, fluxating PVP numbers, and minimizing Orbit time. Many games have folks who have less thsn optimal connections. Well, AI bots would help with this. When MM is searching for players it could match folks whose connections are optimal for eachother and then use AI to fill in any gaps that the current MM would fill with a "Red Bar". Also, when a player is disconnected, quits the game mid-match, or in Trials' case gets DDOS'd. An AI bot of equal skill spawns in and replaces him/her/them until they return. The premise here is that the player is given 3 or 5 minutes to return to the game. After that, the AI is permanent until the game is over. I have an addendum for the ToO version of the AI further below. Basically the AIs would prevent: 1. Uneven Teams at all times. 2. Games full of Red/bad connections. 3. DDOS being a crutch to win. (They could DDOS the Destiny servers but then that is counter productive to clearing ToO.) Private Crucible - AI Options For Private Crucible there simply needs to be an AI Settings in the menu. AI Opponents: - Toggle on/Off Allows you to turn them on & off. This is so those players who want to play with lesser skilled friends, want to chill, want to relax, joke around, and etc can be on the same team and still have opponents to face. Once toggled on you choose from... - AI Settings I. Use Ghost Opponents a) Public Ghost Data Pull AI data from the Public Crucible playlist. So you your opponents are clones and use tactics learned/copied from real players in the Crucible. b)Personal Ghost Data Uses AI data that you created. Basically you would fight copies of yourself and/or those on your Friendlist. Allowing you to train against friends who are offline, or see flaws in your own combat tactics. c) Special AI Data - Allows you to face the Ghosts of Bungie employees. - The top PVPers (who consent for it.) of the world. If you ever wanted to see if you could beat those "notorious streamers" now is your chance. - Specially Made Custom AI Ever wanted to fight Lord Shaxx, Cayde-6, and Master Rahool The Cryptarch? II. AI Skill Level Choose between whatever numbers Bungie goes up to. For the sake of discussion: Skill Level 1 = Newbie Skill Level 10 = Top Tier World Renown PVP Player III. Create Ghost Data This setting puts you & your team (if you didn't queue solo) against blank AIs that will learn from you, copy you, and adapt to you. Once created your Friends can now face your AI/load them into their Private Crucible Games. You can then toggle the Ghost data to Overide Public Ghost data for Trials of Osiris. (See below) Finally...about AI and ToO. Trials of Osiris - AI The goal for them in Trials is to ensure that in the event of a DDOS or D/C. The teams remain balanced. The AI will spawn immediately in an unpoplated location when a living player losses connection. If a dead player disconnects. A dead AI will replace them & fight for them in the next round/until they return. This AI's difficulty/skills will be of the player who disconnected. Taken from their Public Ghost data or Private Ghost Data. In the event the game detects frequent Disconnects (multiple DDOS') the AI opponents might be the Ghost data of one of the top 3 PVP players in the world. So DDOSing the entire team will not go well. If the AIs win. the DDOS'd team's cards are awarded the win. (This is assuming the Game knows the difference between a pulled ethernet cable, rage quit (power off), and destruction of the connection via DDOS. If this cannot be detected then scratch this.) That is it. My idea to compromise & create balanced matches, good connections all round, keep challenge, and make Private Crucible the "Chill & Fun" place people want it to be. If you like this...please upvote the thread, vote in the poll, and support this. Also, any advice/suggestions are welcome. Maybe Cosmo or Deej will see it and pass it on. We may not get it for Destiny 1, but they maybe able to add it in Destiny 2.
