Hard to eradicate. As in year 2 trials sucks and is the worst thing(destructive to the game)for destiny but it's too late to fix or remove it, which is what the OP said.

Hard to eradicate? You mean the trials they have turned off at the drop of a hat due to a hunter glitch? Destructive to the game? So people stop playing Destiny or just trials? Yr2 Trials is not any definition of cancer.

The definition does fit if you think the game mode is detrimental to the game. And it can be. I mean it's the main reason weapons get nerfed because they look at the data from trials. They've stated this simple fact multiple times.

Detrimental is a fine word indeed. Yr2 Trials is detrimental to my enjoyment of the game because... as opposed to Yr2 Trials is cancer.... It is all very well saying cancer had more than one meaning but equally and you know this, cancer has connotations socially and linguistically. You wouldn't say Yr2 Trials makes me feel gay if playing it made you really happy and you really enjoyed it would you? Despite gay meaning happy as one of its definitions.

But there are just as many people who say "that's so gay" when what they really mean is the word stupid, and nobody bats an eye or bothers to say anything about that connotation. Nothing different here. Only difference is that it's written down to read rather than hear.
