I do have to say, me putting in 8 hours on a game doing the same thing to get it done is just as much work as my actual job. I don't tend to play 8 hours in a row, because it's too much work. So to his point even though it's just a game, it's also time. And time Is money
just as much work as my actual job. [...] it's also time. And time Is money
Comparing a job to a video game? Regardless of that you CHOSE to play it in your free time instead of working a second job.

Logically you have free time to do what you want. You get a job to pay for necessities. You work 40 hours to also pay for hobbies and other free time activities for you to enjoy. Some people enjoy their work, some don't. But the reward Is partly gaining things (dollars, friends, respect) for you to use in your leisure time. Now in a video game, you could argue, some times its fun, and sometimes I'm not having fun but I'm playing to gain a reward for me to use later during my free time that I will enjoy. Same reason you're not working 90 hours a week and retiring early. It's moderation in all aspects of life. It's a circle and choosing to work or grind in a video game doesn't come down to just how much fun you're having but the amount of time and effort used. Now I use more brain power, if I grinded patrols for 40 hours a week and trying to upgrade and all that crap, but not having much fun.... than if I worked at McDonalds and flipped burgers for 40 hours. They are both time consuming. They both kind of sucked. They both gave me rewards for me to use later and enjoy life a little more whether it be in a video game or going sky diving. Yes in society money in real life and money in a game are just a laughable comparison, but logically for some, (not me, I love real money) the money from time spent will buy them more of what they enjoy in a game then what they would enjoy with real money. Now here's the crazy part, some people get both at once, video game testers. Get their real life and game rewards at once for 4 hours. How I envy them.
